No. it’s not.
It doesn’t establish any way for parents to get involved in curriculum. It doesn’t change instruction. It simply acts as a deterrent to some districts, or individual teachers, “teaching” about things that most parents find inappropriate for young children.
While at the same time setting up a system for parents to know when this is being violated.
As I have said repeatedly. Parents DO NOT TRUST school systems right now. You can say that’s dumb or wrong or whatever you want. But it’s the reality. So a bill like this comes along and guess what, it makes sense to parents. They like it. They like knowing that some things will stay out of the classroom. They like knowing that schools can’t just ignore them when they reach out.
As a lifelong progressive, and longtime democrat, I fear the Left in this country is losing their way, in turn losing their influence.
