Boardwalk

Can you see the fireworks over at EPCOT ? The night time entertainment looks like it would be fun to see.
I have photographic evidence that you can see the MGM fireworks from Boardwalk, at least from the wing we were in. Unfortunately I was passed out at the time. More about that and pics of the fireworks on my upcoming trip report.

No, I'm talking about the Villas. We were put in a newly renovated room in a newly renovated wing where you could still smell the paint drying. I swear we were the first ones in this room. I am aware that they did the Inn several years ago.

They did the Villas a few years ago (DVC '98...I haven't stayed at the BWInn since 1997!). They were very driftwood-y originally, and they glammed them up about 4 years ago. If they've redone them yet again (if you could smell paint drying!), I'll have to book in there soon and check them out.

When I bought into DVC, we had a choice of OKW or BWV. I went with OKW because I loved the place, and haven't often regretted it. Only now and again (during F&W FEST!!) do I wish we'd bought at BWV.

Garden view, looking towards the Swan, or Pool View (and that creepy clown)? I've seen plenty fireworks from BW balconies. :)

I have a video and I'm going to post it tonight Maybe I'm insane but our check in cast member stayed on the phone for 20 minutes before she hung up and said "Great news! We are upgrading you to the renovated wing.". Just need an hour to get home from work and I'll post it here and also in my trip report thread(which had not been created yet).

What wing would that be? I bet it's nice to walk to both EPCOT and DHS.

It is a nice walk to either park.

The tricky part is the walk to your room. o_O Check-in is in the middle of the two buildings, Inn and Villas. If you don't have a Boardwalk view, your room could be quite a hike from check-in. It could be very much closer to DHS than to Epcot.

Regardless, I am a born and bred NYC girl and I don't mind walking. Boardwalk is a fantastic resort; the Bakery is great for breakfast after a brisk walk/jog around Crescent Lake, and it's an easy stroll to either DHS or Epcot. Can't beat the location.

(so why then, WHY did I buy DVC at Old Key West?? Because I like life even more laid back. :) )

Plus it's an even longer walk to Epcot and DHS.... That's some New York for ya...

Ooh, you were right over the Bowling Green! What a great location.

Wow, they really did do them all over all over again! Looks gorgeous, now I will have to make there my next stay.

This is my quick walk-through video of our room. It's also on my trip report, but I'm putting it here too just for convenience. Sorry it cuts off abruptly at the end, but the phone ran out of gas...

OMG. Thank you so much for posting your video. We're going in August and hoping for a renovated room. Looks great! Now I'm excited about the trip ;)

We loved our stay in January in a 2 bdr. With the exception of some risers starting construction at 7 am one morning and some deafening drilling from above, the stay was great. The construction noise was annoying, but temporary of course. I would love to go back now and stay in the newly rennovated villas for sure!

Our room wasn't far too from the elevator and was close to the garbage and recycle room. The room over looked the other pool, community center, the river way to DHS and the Tower of Terror. The walk and boat rides to Epcot and DHS were a big bonus. We moved onto the GF later on, so we didn't have to try to catch the bus to the MK. The Boardwalk Resort area is huge, but incredible pleasant and a perfect place for a stroll day or night. The rooms were smaller than Old Key West, but they do not build them like that any more. The studio was spacious and the bathroom in the master bedroom was huge!

If you are big on the refillable cup and counter service options it is a little less attractive, but still a good choice for location for a villa.

Beach and Yacht club don't share with them?
I can't speak for the bus that goes to the Animal Kingdom, but as of December 2014 the Boardwalk bus to and Downtown Disney now shares with just the Swan and Dolphin. However that only happens after 2:00 PM.

Also in all my Boardwalk Inn stays I have had since August 2010, the bus to the Magic Kingdom each time I used it has always went like this. 1st stop Boardwalk, 2nd stop Swan and the 3rd stop Dolphin.
