weeeellll....we had prefered view during our Thanksgiving trip, but we got a pool, and the back of ToT...which was very cool, and i'm not complaining at all! i loved it! but i was really hoping for a view of the Boardwalk.
murphy, i'm not sure if you're asking because you're wanting to stay there and you hope to get a boardwalk view, or if you're just curious. but if you're planning on staying there, and hope to get a boardwalk view, then don't get your hopes up TOO high. there's a slim chance that you'll get one of those rooms...but there IS a chance! i mean, SOMEONE's gotta get those rooms, right? :animwink:

I wonder if those villas belong to DVC owners? That might give other DVC owners priority, and they only become available to non-owners if no DVC members are using them.

I guess I wasn't specific enough. :o I wonder if the Boardwalk/waterview villas are given out to DVC owners first?

I've also stayed in the villas, but didn't get a waterview.

BWV is one of the few DVC resorts that has a different point rate for perfered view or standard. Standard is a bit lower (around the same price as OKW). This can be a great deal. For this reason the stanard view tends to go 1st. So I think it might even be easier to get perfered view with cash apossed to points. Also when you pay cash for DVC rooms, you have a chance of being upgraded (a small one, you still a chance) where with DVC points there is no chance, what you reserve is what you get.

With BCV opening, that has taken some of the presure of off BWV, leaving more openings for cash ressies.

good points, PhD! :)

hey, Mom, i'm a bit confused by your questions. are you thinking that all of Boardwalk/waterfronts are DVC villas? cause that's how i'm taking it. i'm not sure if you know what i'm about to say or not, but i'm going to assume you don't...if you do already know this, then please forgive me....but, BW is divided into the Villas and the Inn. the villas (all of them) are for DVC points (not nessasarily owners....owners can sell their unused points to non-owners) but the Inn are for non-DVC members. and BW is split in the middle, so there are waterfronts on the villas side, and waterfronts on the inn side. does that make sense?
again, i'm very sorry if you already knew all that.

DisneyPhD clarified things.

I own a timeshare (not DVC), and I purchased a particular unit, for a specific week. I trade this unit for time at different resorts. However, if I were to use it as purchased, I would be GUARANTEED a waterfront. I didn't know if DVC worked the same way. Apparently not. Sorry for the confusion. ;)
