Boardwalk Villas Advice

I've rented a week's worth of vacation club points from a co-worker for an April trip. I'm staying in a 1-bedroom at the Boardwalk Villas with a preferred view (pool or garden). I chose this resort because Beach Club was entirely booked and my family likes the convenience of walking into Epcot.

I'm not familiar with the layout of the villas area but I do know that it's closer to MGM than Epcot. Can anyone give some advice on an area or building to request when I check in? I'd prefer to be closer to the main area while not being too noisy. I also don't want to be way in the back toward MGM. Is there a 2nd pool for the villas or just the main large pool?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I haven't stayed there before so I can't really give great advice on where to stay exactly. However...you are definitely closer to Epcot over the Studios. You are closest to the Walking path to the studios, but that still doesn't make you closer than you are to Epcot.

We've stayed there and really liked it. I guess with a preferred view but not a boardwalk view, you will be getting apool view. They have the luna park pool and another regular pool. We asked to be close to the elevators since I had heard that there can be long walks to the elevators depending on where you are. We had a view of the luna park pool and it was very nice. With the doors shut you couldn't hear the pool noise at all, but with the doors open you could hear all the fun.

The only thing we really didn't like about the place was the lack of counter service and the fact that you have to go out to the boardwalk for refillable mugs. It was a pain since there is no self serve place, you have to bring your mug, but get your refill in a separate cup. So you are carrying two drinks around.

Have a great trip! :)

We're also staying at the Boardwalk Villas for the first time. Do any of the 1 bedroom villas face the Boardwalk? I asked my travel agent and for all she knew was that we got the last available 1 bedroom, not knowing what the view will be? At check-in, would it hurt to ask for a Boardwalk view? Would there be a price difference?

Yes, a boardwalk view is more expensive than a standard view. There are certainly 1 bedrooms that have a boardwalk view. You should make that preference known and then when you check in if there are any available you could get one.
