Boardwalk to Fantasia Gardens

When I say Boardwalk, I'm referring not to the resort hotel, but to the entertainment district of the same name. However, I'm sure the point is moot since they are probably located next door to each other anyway.

But my question is, is the Boardwalk within walking distance of Fantasia Gardens mini-golf course?

There is a path. The Boardwalk connects right to the Swan/Dolphin, and Fantasia Gardens is located at the entrance of the Swan.

Cool, thanks.

I had the most horrible time trying to find Winter Summerland last time. I drove around the property for about an hour trying to find the darn place and at least one of the people I asked directions from must have thought I was referring to Fantasia because that's where his directions took me. I went by Fantasia several times in my search for Winter Summerland and finally I just didn't care anymore and decided to settle for Fantasia. Of course, lucky me, there was a 45 minute wait so it was back in the van to search for Winter Summerland. I finally got there...just in time to get behind a party of 5 who I overheard to say that they just came from Fantasia for the same reason. :brick: Of course, they didn't even offer to let us play through, so we were stuck behind their sorry bee-hinds the whole way through.

Knowing my luck, the same will happen next time around if I'm trying to drive to Fantasia. :ROFLOL: So it would just be easier to walk from the Boardwalk since we want to visit there anyway.

Walk the Boardwalk towards the Dance Hall. There you'll see the pathway that goes up the hill and branches left toward the Swan or right to the Yacht Club. Turn left toward the Swan, take the path all the way past the Swan to their beach & pool area. The path turns left past the side of the Swan and crosses the street to Fantasia Gardens.

That's the path marked on the gmap-pedometer map I linked above.

We passed by Fantasia Gardens on our last trip in April and it looked really nice, love Fantasia and the theming seems spot on. I 've heard it's a much harder course than Mickey's Winter Summerland, is this true? For those of you who have played at both courses...which did you like better and why?

I have played both and like Winter Summerland better. I also prefer the Summer side. I'd like to give Fantasia Gardens another try, though because they were midway through recarpeting some of the holes when we were there which kind of made it a bummer. :(

While we are on the subject, is it easy to walk from MGM to Fantasia Gardens? I've walked from Epcot to MGM before with no problem (about a 1/2 hour). But I can't remember if there is a sidewalk on the west side of the waterway. We have a voucher for a free round of mini golf there and want to be able to get there from MGM.

Thanks for the directions and thanks to the person who posted the picture link.

I guess all that matters is that there is a clear path to walk and that I don't have to worry about sneaking out behind the buildings, walking through unkept wooded areas where I have to worry about getting sprayed by a skunk or bit by a snake, and then tearing my pants as I climb over the fence. :D

Well, there's a few ways to get there from MGM:

First, you can take the boat to the Swan& Dolphin stop and walk from there.

Second, you can walk up to the Swan & Dolphin and over from there.

Lastly, and probably the fastest way... Walk along the path toward the Boardwalk. Just after you cross under the Buena Vista Drive bridge, there's a path that veers off to the right. Take that path, and it'll loop you up to the roadway level and across the bridge. From here, you can continue on the sidewalk along Buena Vista Blvd to the next intersection, which is where Fantasia Gardens is located. Follow the sidewalk as it curves in Epcot Resorts Blvd and it'll lead you to the crosswalk over to the course.

This is the route I'm talking about:

It's just shy of 1 mile from the security checkpoint at the Studios to Fantasia Gardens.

Thanks! I saw that bridge too but couldn't remember if you could get up to it from below. Thanks again!

Since we rarely have a car with us, we take a park bus to either Swan/Dolphin or Boardwalk and then walk to Fantasia Gardens. A bit of advice: if playing Fantasia Gardens during the summer, play at night. There is little if no shade which makes playing in the hot summer Florida sun terrible. We played one afternoon and complete melted. We like to save FG (play here every summer, my son's must do) for the evening we go to ESPN for dinner, walk around the Boardwalk then FG. You can see some of the fireworks from Epcot if you are there late enough.
