Boardwalk Questions

Does anyone have any recent pictures of Boardwalk villas? I have looked online but the only ones I can find that have a date are from 2009. Also can anyone tell me about the layout of the villas and which sections/rooms are best and closest to the restaurants and shops?
We have never been to Boardwalk before so any amount of info would be much appreciated!

Sorry don't have any pics but we have stayed @ Boardwalk Villas to many times to remember with our last stay being the 1st week of March 2011. It's kind of a double edge sword, the furthest rooms from the lobby are closest to the Hollywood Studios walkway and Swan/Dolphin. We have yet to score a BW view but any view of main pool isn't to far from elevators. Don't sweat it and have a great time! Boardwalk has become our favorite Resort.

Here's a map...

http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/boardwalk.htm

The light yellow section (x123 - x136) on the bottom left is the farthest from the lobby and Boardwalk entertainment. But, like Yanks07 said, it is also the closest to the Studios.

My most recent stay at Boardwalk was in the very last room at the end of the farthest hall (1136) which was roughly 3-4 minutes walk from the lobby. I'm a speedy walker and wasn't herding any kids though. The "average" guest family might find it very inconvenient.

Think for yourselfer
Hi there, I stayed in the Villas with my wife in November, we stayed in a studio room. Here are a couple pics.

If you refer to the map posted right above, we were in the light pink building that has the #21 in it. That rooms location was very central, easy walk to all the shops and restaurants. One thing about the location though, if you are a late sleeper, or if you plan to go to bed early, it is quite noisy in that area. Might make it tough.

The best part of the Boardwalk is you can walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios... and technically Magic Kingdom too, if you walk to and thru Epcot to the Monorail. It was sooo nice to not have to just wait around. Even if it would take the same amount of time to walk as it did to ride, at least when you walk you feel like you are doing something to get yourself there! And we actually timed the walk versus the boat to Hollywood Studios and it came out to be the same!

Thank you everyone for your responses, they are very helpful! We usually stay at the Contemporary and walk back from MK most nights and I think thats about a 10 minute walk (with a tired 7 year old) Do you know how long the walk to/from Epcot and DHS is? Is it through the international gateway?

Boardwalk lobby to Epcot is about the same as Kingdom to Contemporary. Yes, it uses the International Gateway entrance.

The walk to Studios is a bit longer but still usually quicker than waiting for the boat.

BW to Epcot is about 10 mins - if you stroll and about 15 to DHS if you stroll. (Stroll rather then make a mad dash to the parks!)
