Boardwalk Bakery closing for major refurbishment in early 2013

It only listed the other two pools as available, not mention of Stormalong Bay

Thanks for for responding. I am in England visiting my husband's family, so I haven't received any mail. I am going to call on Monday when I return. If this is not resolved to my satisfaction (e.g changing a reservation to BC and honoring the same rate), I am walking away and booking a vacation elsewhere. My husband likes to play golf at WDW, I think he'd like Scottsdale. We have a room only at this point, so it wouldn't take much to make us walk.

It appears the bakery is taking over a part of the ESPN shop next door. I'd guess the kitchen is moving into this space to make room for the expanded storefront and queue.

Great for fans online to see the construction pics, but really terrible show that this is visible right from the Boardwalk. No blackout curtains or walls like usual?

Considering how small the area was before, I wonder if they wouldn't reverse things, putting the queue and storefront in the old ESPN area, keeping the bakery where it currently is....

No curtains or walls on the ESPN Club. The tinted windows do not reveal much during the daytime but the nighttime illumination creates an absolutely dreadful view of the torn-apart interior. Like you said, really terrible show.

The only itty bitty construction wall is around the existing bakery doors. This suggests the rest of the building will not receive any exterior changes, keeping the entrance where it was.

Wider shots of the area for reference:

On an unrelated note... I am not an electrician but I do know that electricity + water = bad, and therefore live lighting fixtures probably should not leak profusely.

Don't worry, Disney maintenance is on top of it.

I never paid attention to this to even notice it was going under refurbishment. We're staying at BWV next month, I'm excited to check this out. We love the Boardwalk Bakery, I'm glad to see it expanded in size!

it desperately needed it. one of the most unpleasant things about heading down to the bakery for coffee was dealing with the microscopic queue space they had there.

and since every ipad/iphone/ipod is now essentially it's own game room, ESPN didn't need to take up all that space with an arcade (even though i was a sharpshooter at hot shot basketball).
