Boardwalk Area

I have not been to the Boardwalk area before and would like to stop over there on my next trip. I know you can get there through Epcot, but is that the only way to go? We will probably go there our first day because we will check-in late & need something to do. We are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge & I was wondering if we need to take a bus to Epcot & walk over or if we had any other options.

Thanks! :)

Park at the Boardwalk resort and just walk through to the Boardwalk on crescent lake. Or park at the Swan, Dolphin, Yacht or Beach Clubs and walk around the lake. Note if you get a bus to Epcot you`ll have to enter the park and then leave to get to the Boardwalk via the International Gateway; if you have to take the bus go to the Studios and then walk from its bus station to the Boardwalk.

You can take a bus from the AKL to either EPCOT or Hollywood Studios. From Both it is a bit of a walk...you can also take the boat from the studios to the Boardwalk area.

If you have a car..driving is probaly your best bet.

Enjoy your trip

I would take the bus to the studios and then take the boat which are just outside the park, then you get a nice leisurly sail calling at the Swan Dolphin Beachclub and Boardwalk which is a lovely place to visit, you could even walk to Epcot and spend some time there before getting the bus home from Epcot ,enjoy your holiday.

Drive on over, there is ample parking for those wishing to visit the Boardwalk.
It will be quicker than taking a bus to a park and having to switch over to another bus or the boat.

You can get to Boardwalk on Disney Transportation the same way you would get to any other resort hotel from AKL lodge. Take a bus from AKL to any park or Downtown Disney then take the Boardwalk/Swan/Dolphin/Yacht&Beach Club bus to Boardwalk. The bus to MGM generally works best when transfering to Boardwalk, but an AK bus would work well since you are leaving from AKL.

MGM does also have a Friendship boat to Board walk but it stops at the Swan&Dolphin stop, and Yacht and Beach club first, so it's quicker to take the bus from MGM. But the boat is a very nice ride.

This will actually help me too, as I plan on visiting the Boardwalk for the first time in September. So I want to thank you all for the info. :)
