Do you mean you miss your scheduled arrival time? That's no problem. Going early may be, going late is not.
Not sure what you meant by the second sentence. :)
So i board the ship and it's 12:30 but I still have plenty of time to go to the supermarket...can i leave the ship once I'm on it after I physically check-in?

If you arrive later than your assigned boarding time they will still allow you to board, they'll assign you to the next available time or just let you board when you arrive.

Do any Shopping before you board.

The taxi guy mentioned a taxi stand near the terminal in Port Canaveral...anyone know where in relations to where you arrive? Google maps isn't helping me much...

I agree with Joe. Do any shopping before you physically check onto the ship. I honestly don't know if they'll let you back off after you check in. But if you need to do some shopping, you can always drop your bags at the terminal, and then catch a taxi to the store.

Plus, once I'm on on-board, I don't want to disembark till we get to Castaway Cay!! :)

I've often wondered about that. We typically drive when we go to Port Canaveral. What if we forgot something in the car? Would they let us go get it? I mean, when at the dock you can look right over and see the cars from the ship. It's not far. Ya know?

My theory is that they will not let you off the ship. Once you board, and they scan your card you are counted as onboard. As we know at every port you are required to show your card when you disembark as well as when you board so they can keep an accurate count. They just don't seem to be set up to have someone scanning cards for disembarking passengers.

Plus, Disney would not want to see the confusion of people going off and on the ship while they are doing the guest introductions.

There are several options for going to the Supermarket on the morning before you board. I live in the Orlando area so if you need information on markets in the area, fell free to send me a pm with how you are getting to the port and where you will be the night before the cruise and I will be happy to share with you some local markets. I would think that if there was some sort of legitimate need, such as "Oh no, I left my insulin in the car!" they would be able to arrange something. Escort you off with a crew member somehow and escort you back on. But a request of "Can I pop out for a while to get some booze from the local Wegmans" would be answered with a no.
