Blocked from WDWMAGIC?

Hi,

Can someone help me with this? This makes absolutely no sense to me but maybe you can make sense of it.

I work at a place here in South Florida of about 110 employees. I was referred to this site through a co-worker who has an annual pass. I was looking for a good Disney site since my wife and I are getting ready to get annual passes and CANNOT WAIT!
However, I was referred to the site and can access it great from home!, but I can't access the message boards at work. I asked the guy who referred me if he had this problem and he said he doesn't know. He said he doesn't use the site anymore and was kicked off. Now, I get that much as he is quite obnoxious to begin with and it doesn't surprise me with his record at work. However, why would that keep ME from getting access to the message boards at work? I have a completely different log in. I use even a different corporate log in at work. When I asked him why I may be in this predicament he just laughs at me and walks off. ?????. Anyways, can someone help me? I asked our computer technician and he said there is no firewall or blockage keeping me from accessing the site. Please help! Gotta keep busy at work by reading WDWMagic!

We're probably blocking the IP address because of him, and as the fact your company has only one IP address, you are blocked.

Most companies have one IP adddy... so maby steve will unblock it.. (after interrorgating you first.. J/K :lol: )

:lookaroun.. you may never get on at work... might only get on at home if he was indeed kicked... steve is a stickerler for keeping some things blocked... but that is just to keep us safe...

The only thing that may be a problem though, is this guy is a computer freaking genius. He's the type of guy that will end up getting fired for hacking our company's computers (we're already suspicious and trying to prove it). Just so you know, he's still on. That's why I figured it must be something wrong instead of IP blocked. I see that our work system is blocked but he's still on the site and a member of the site at home. In fact, I think he's disguises his IP with a program and changes it each time he's online as to not get blocked. I really can't stand the guy to begin with but I really don't know enough about computers to know exactly what he's truly talking about. I know basically that an IP is some sort of number to identify me in case I need to be tracked I guess, but other than that I have no idea.

I understand if I am not let on at work. I hope I am though as that's the place I have most time to use it (go figure, at work). I think there's several at work that may be having this same problem if I am. I know there are several at work on this site as they've talked about it. I dont think he uses it at work anymore because we're already all over him because of his internet use. I am in management at the company and we dont really mind "some" internet use, especially by managers but when guys like him are online and looking at something like "Top hottie of the day" from some radio station website, we are keeping tabs on him. I dont think he'll be using it online at work as we're on to him, but unfortunately he's still on here at home and is a frequent user, but not at work.

Like I said, I fully understand though if you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm sure I'll get the "treatment" if he sees this post from me from home. Oh well, if you do read this (unnamed person) just know, we're watching you. lol.

Hi WDWMAGIC (I assume you are the leader here by your screen name).


I am now at home and can't give you the exact message that i get at work but, I know that it says "Your IP has been blocked by administrator" or something to that effect. I can't be sure though.

I didnt check later today but I know earlier today I am able to go to the site www.wdwmagic.com. I am able to see all the stuff down the left of the page, you know, like updates and stuff? However, the message boards are not there. I see where they should be but they don't exist on my screen at work like they do here. When I try to go them that is when I get the IP message. Do you know if this is right? I know why I think it's like that so whatever happens is understandable.

Hey wdwmagic, I dont want to be a bother, especially not since I am brand new here, so please, don't stress this situation. If I can't do it at work then I can't. That's the way it is. I just wanted it at work because I have very little time at night at home to get online and at work is when I get to browse the site. I don't mean to open up a huge issue but just wondered if anything could be done.

I have to say that I really don't know what you are talking about here. Someone says "Busted"? What did I do? I am not civil eng68 like you mentioned. The guy you mention works at my place of employment. I dont know what you are talking about but if you think I am him then I mean that's fine. I just really don't understand what you are talking about. I'll just go away I guess. I mean seriously this is confusing. I know you banned the ip at work but I have done nothing wrong. You mentioned something about homosexuals? I have never said anything about homosexuals. I am sure you are going by IP addresses, ( I assume) and therefore think I am someone else. I have to say I am very confused. I just looked at the link you gave me to see and that is someone not me. I would have no reason to be upset with you over anything. Also I just read what the information in the link you sent me and well I have to say, I am really confused. If you see IP's you have to see that that post on the link you sent also came from another IP. It had to unless we're all on one IP address. Then again, I'm not a computer guy so I just dont know. I'm sorry. So confused. Why was I called a rat by the way? What did I do?

Just something else you may want to know that may be getting you confused. I just noticed he used the screen name civileng68. That is the address that is registered through our corporate Paypal account. Our company is on Ebay a "dominionvideo123" and he is in charge of the account as part of his job. I know this because I work with the marketing department which gave him that job. I use this as well. Anything we pay for comes from this account. If this is the case, then maybe that's why Im being accused here. I just dont understand because I've done nothing wrong here.

Just so you know WDWMAGIC, I would never write something like you linked to me about you or anyone else for that matter. Also you said a "threat"? I wouldnt threaten anyone. If you knew me, it's not my nature. I'm probably the most laid back, altercation hating person. I'm the type that sits back and just agrees with a smile on my face. I think you've got the wrong guy here. Is there something I can do to fix this? If this is an issue between you and this other person, I dont need access to it at work. That's fine, I just would rather not be thrown in the boat with this guy, know what I mean? Again, sorry if I've done anything since being here. I just want to read the site and enjoy myself.

There are very few people banned by IP address. Its most likely a routing problem with your ISP. Could you do a tracert for me? The process is described here http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=46697
