Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon

I'm planning to hit one of the waterparks next weekend. Any recommendations? I'm tempted to go to Typhoon Lagoon because of Crush N Gusher, but Blizzard Beach appears to be more enjoyable. Also, what will crowds be like on Fridays and Saturdays?

I prefer Typhoon Lagoon because it has a better wave pool, Crush n' Gusher and swiming with the sharks.

Blizzard Beach is have more "crazy rides" that are aimed for older kids and what not.

I went to both a couple years ago, and I thought I would enjoy BB much more because I looked at all of the slides, especially Summit Plummet. Ultimately, with the wave pool and everything else, TL was a much more enjoyable experience, as a good number of BB's big thrills really weren't that thrilling. If having to choose one, I'd take TL, though I have to ask, what is the Crush n Gusher? (Nevermind, a quick wdwmagic search cleared that up, and I must say, that furthers my vote for TL, can't wait to go on it.)

Saturdays at the water parks are nuts. Not only resort guests, but many local Orlando area residents. We try to hit the water parks on Mondays or Tuesdays, they just seem less crowded. Our group is split on TL and BB and we like to do both while on vacation. TL for the wave pool and new water coasters and BB for the family tube ride and other slides.

BB or TL: I prefer TL. Either way, get there when it opens. Less crowded, plus it often gets cloudy and rainy later in the day.

IMO, Blizzard Beach offers the more complete experience. It has something for everyone, and Mt. Gushmore offers some excellent views of WDW. If BB had gotten the water coaster, there would be no reason to visit Typhoon Lagoon.

I prefer TL. As other have said, the wave pool is great, and I prefer the variety of slides overall, including C'n'G. BB definitely has more "thrill" slides, but TL has a set of high-speed slides as well. I also like the atmosphere of TL better - natural, tropical environment, rather than plastic, artificial snow environment.

i definitely prefer TL. aside from the rides, just the themeing alone! plus there is waaaay more shade from the unforgiving florida sun, which is great for us pale irish folk. in BB, (at least when i was there many years ago) there was practically no shade and in fact there was fake white snow everywhere REFLECTING more sun at you. plus i felt the climbs up to all the slides were way more tiring than TL. crush and gusher is awesome, the shark reef is cool, the wave pool is the best.

I LOVE Blizzard Beach. It has a little of everything:

Big lazy river to float in for as long as you please.

Family raft ride (which my mother took to mean, "Sweet, relaxing family tube ride. He he he...)

Racing slides..where they put up how long it took you and you can race with friends....

Slush Gusher and Summit Plummet...SP is terrifying but SO cool! (If you don't mind a wedgie the side of Kentucky...seriously.)

Wave pool, great beaches, chair lift up to SP and SG..

But from what I've heard, geared more towards the 10 and older crowd. With little kids, TL is more relaxing.

I gotta ask... now I haven't been to TL in over 10 years... and I just went to BB last summer; so my gf and I are gonna go to TL this summer... but it sounds the majority, well while liking TL more... seem to like it more for the wave pool and theming... does it have some thrill slides? We loved BB, but wouldn't bother doin it again... wanted to try TL this time, and well we're gonna no matter what... but it does have some pretty good slides right? Besides CnG... I remember it having some decent slides...

also, the swimming with the sharks, how much is that? anyone know? thanks

Well i'm certainly glad responding to me was your 900th post!

Also... I got confused, the SAS program is the thing that cost money... not too expensive (I just checked it)... anyone ever do this... is it worth it?

It does have some thrill slides, though Crush n' Gusher puts it all to shame, IMHO.

The only reason to go to BB is if you want the atomic wedgie treatment brought forth by Summit Plummet.
