That wont find it. Sorry. Your version doesnt have the latest Virus Definitions or what ever its called.

Try this. This link will direct you to a download from the Symantec Site. It comes witha Digital Signature incase you think i am tring to infect you. LOL. (I am not that mean, LOL.)

Run this software and it will detect and delete it if your system has it.

OOPPSSS.... I forgot a major part of this. make sure you turn off/disable System Restore if you are using ME or XP. Cause the virus can hide in those files.

Then run it. If you have it, it will clean it. then put the patch on from microsoft.

This virus was not directed at Windows 98SE so you didn't have anything to worry about Darrel. Of greater concern is that had this worm (or another in the future) actually been directed at Windows 98 operating systems, then it is unlikely that Micro$oft will help because they no longer provide much support for this version:

That's why I suggested you might want to start looking at a new computer or at upgrading your current OS. I agree with Blizz in that a clean new install is usually the best approach.

I take it you are talking about reformating your hard drive and starting clean...

I do this maybe every 6 months. Then I always have a clean system and it saves hard drive space. But now that i just got a new 300GB Hard Drive, I dont need to worry about hard drive space anytime soon. (this was needed so i can do DV video editing on my PC).

I heard it will be worse tomorrow saturday, so I will try to not get online during the day.... :( Would that help to not get my computer infected? I already did the patch thing and ran the antivirus.

Since Malicious bugs and worms are prevelent and not much I can do to stop them I have taken to proceting my computer with several preset options, I had my patch automatically downloadedeariler in the week as well as seperate Vurus scanning software and a firewall that I turned up the protection to stealth in the meantime untill U encounter a download problem with sites, except the fummy thing is after I downloaded the patch my option to turn off my hard drive and computer after being idle got reset so I need to shut down manually. Also my logs indicat that the worm came knocking but denied entry. lets see what happens tommrow
