You get the birthday button at City Hall in MK, or at guest relations. I went for my 17th bday last year & got the button (which I wore the entie trip) & we went to MNSSHP. I'm going the week before my bday this year & we're doing MNSSHP & breakfast at Ciderella's Table to celebrate.

btw... The button just lets the CMs know that it's your bday & they'll wish you a happy birthday. Sometimes they might do something special, but they didn't for me last year. I think it really depends on the CMs you happen to meet during the trip. I had one trying to guess how old I was turning. (he was wrong... he thought I was turning 22)

Definitely pick up the button, and she can wear it the entire trip, not just only on her actual birthday. (My birthday was about a week ago and I forgot to pick up the button while I was in the parks, :) ). Also, if she likes fireworks or a good show, definitely catch Wishes (in Magic Kingdom), Reflections of Earth (in Epcot), or Fantasmic! (in Disney-MGM Studios). I watched Reflections on the night of my birthday (also the night after my first day as a cast member) and it was also a special time of the year, so it was a very fit celebration.

Also, plan to have breakfast some morning at Chef Mickey's and let them know it's her birthday. She'll have a great time and Mickey will come and personally wish her a happy birthday!

You don't have to just celebrate that day. As long as you get the buttons for each park from guest relations upon entering. And any table service you have just tell them you are celebrating a B-day and to make it as embarassing as possible and they will accomidate you with no problem. We've done it before and will more than likely do it again.

Order a b-day cake from WDW & have it delivered to the restaurant where you will be eating!

for my cousin's 21st b-day her sister called and made special arrangements for a b-day cake... I don't remember exactly who she contacted, but they let her choose her sister's favorite character for the cake- a hitchhiking ghost (I think they did phineas).... it was really cool; they served it to her at dinner- I think they might have been at Ohana's (again, I'm probably wrong , but I did see pictures of the awesome cake)...
