hey guys... i wonder if we should take him to the jim n nicks in 5 points?.... or if he wants a non-bham chain, somehting in Lakeview. i just figure somehting like JnN's wouldnt care if we sat at the table and chit chatted for a bit.

im sure sam will love to come as well. all 7.75 pregnant months of her. :D

sunday lunch works for me. we have to take some pictures and post in PML.

BTW, we cant do the Fishmarket anymore. they really over salt the veggies and the last 3 times, the fish hasnt been that great. i mean come on... you are a fish market. that is what you do.

A local place/chain sounds great! I'd love to meet Sam. If no one else shows up, I can give you guys post-birth relationship tips. Really, I'm just going to be saying, do whatever she says and wait on her hand and foot in various ways.

Ironically, I am going to be home in Birmingham for my bi-yearly visit around that time.... But I hate, hate, hate driving downtown, so I will be close, but oh so far away

Me too!!!!

I'm not sure I'll be able to make it or not. A lot depends on if my husband is home or not (to stay with the kids). I'm going to try though :)

Someone could always swing by and pick George up and we could meet somewhere around the Summit area :lookaroun It's not as bad as downtown and it's a little less of a drive for me :lookaroun  And Elizabeth, does that mean someplace with a play ground is out?

Nope, playgournd isn't out. The Summit or the Galleria would be better drive for me as well.

I really will be at the whim of the locals. Just remember, I will have to be whisked away from the Doubletree. Too bad I won't have any kids with me if we wind up at a playground somehwere!

The Doubletree downtown is a very nice hotel. We've stayed there on several occasions and their cookies are :slurp: as always

Any Birmingham locals remember Galleria Fun Country? That would have been perfect, you know, if it hadn't been torn down and turned into a Starbucks.

(I used to work there, before I graduated to a better family fun location, WDW)

ahhh, the old fun country. well, it is now a strip mall with a furniture store, a chic-fil-a and a small hotel. obviously GFC want pulling in the major revenue on 150. since you have gone, hwy 150 is so over crowded now with retail and traffic. is it scary. you wont recognize it if you drive by.

the cave in the putt-putt area were nice and secluded :lookaroun on dates.

oh yes, back to the topic at hand... i can meet anywhere. brookwood wouldnt be too far of a drive for you. i guess ill let everyone else decide. i really want everyone to make it to one location. i see harry and vern quite often driving by my house (even though they dont see me waving from my yard ) and i obviously have never met George, but Elizabeth and i have never met in person either and the ironic thing about that is i hav met her boss at KK that lives in new jersey. what is up with that. Elizabeth lives across town. small world i guess, but large enough to not see someone that lives across town. :D

Heidi (TwoTigersMom) may be coming up early on Sunday and staying at the some hotel as me. If that is the case, I'll probably just carpool with her and her posse to wherever we're meeting at. Harry suggested the mall (as well as a few other options), but I thought that option sounded nice since the food court apparently features quite a few options, including some healthier ones.

that is true... ill break this down to 2 more decisions:

If we go to the close mall in reference to the doubletree (Brookwood): Harry and Vern can attend
If we go to the mall far away (the galleria): harry and vern cant attend. im not certain of elizabeths attendance at Brookwood

I think Elizabeth thought she was going to be too busy to attend, but still wasn't 100% sure.

kidding. i understand the fam obligations etc. well, should we go ahead and say Brookwood and select a time?

I like times that avoid the noon rush say a little early (11:30) or late (12:30). Should we ask Harry since he's going to have to work a bit that day?

Cool. I'm glad they open at noon. I think that by 1PM I would be gnawing my arm off. Looks like a neat place. Pinkrose says that she still might be able to make it. Now, I guess we're just waiting for some input from Harry and Vern.

I fly in late Sat. night, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Right now it looks like no snow is forecast.

Noon at the Brookwood food court sounds good. That is this Sunday, March 2, right? I'll bring Vern if I can. We'll be wearing something with Mickey or Disney stuff on it.
