Biggest Eyesore at WDW?

I'm surprised that Disney didn't sic their lawyers on them, especially with Canada using the distinctive glider logo.
Ah. I was under the impression that it was Disney Imagineering who designed the thing and then contracted Vekoma to build it.
At least that's what they led us to believe when whatsisname whipped out his Erector set for the History Channel.
Oh no, not the Erector Set! Every time that special's on, I always end up tuning in right at that spot. No more! No more!

BAH gets my vote. Move it elsewhere. Maybe some deserted spot on the west side of the property, and put Leave-A-Legacy beneath it.

Also the Characters In Flight balloon. I dislike being able to see it around the property when it's aloft; it destroys the theming of wherever I am, as well as my vacation-induced perception of the vastness of WDW.

I posted a list earlier in the tread but I forgot Disney Quest. A big ciment block with zero theming... look cheap.

Someone mentioned the Swan and Dolphin. Were in hell is it supose to look like a dolphin??? DW and I call it the Gold Fish Resort!
They do look like fish! The dolphins of the Dolphin harken back to the renaissance dolphins of Bernini. It is a way dolphins used to be portrayed, before taxonomy and modern biology made dolphins better understood.

Luckily, you don't need to travel all the way to Europe to visit Italy because WDW features its vastly improved version. The Neptune statue in WS features these renaissance dolphins:

Isn't it supposed to be a dolphinfish, not an actual dolphin?

I've read that too. I think that's apocryphical. Possibly originating with employees in search of an answer to being asked forty times a day why the dolphins look nothing like dolphins. Or maybe Werner Weiss started it all.

It is the Swan and Dolphin. Not the Swan and Dolphinfish. The dolphinfish is an entirely uncharismatic creature.
The dolphins as they look in the ornamentations of the Dolphin Hotel harken back to the clasic depiction of dolphins. In fact, one can't help but be struck by the likeness with Bernini's dolphins. Bernini, for his part, had never even seen the dolphinfish of non-European tropical waters. He did however sculpt his dolphins in the European tradition of displaying dolphins with scales and fins. Well, it lived in the sea so it must've been a fish! And with an exaggarated arched back, because jumping out of the water with arched back was the only position you'd see a dolphin in before under water viewing.

Dolphins, not dolphinfish. This is the classic depiction of dolphins. Head down, curved back, scales, fish tail.

The dolphins of Graves are quite conscious Disneyfied copies of Bernini's dolphins.

Did it actually fall on anyone? Did anyone get hurt? How long ago did this happen and had it been addressed? I had no idea!!!!
Yes, a part of the tree fell. No, it didn't fall on anyone.

The nets went up while they were investigating the possible cause (lol) for the branch falling.

It's been a couple years since it happened. The net area has undergone some changes in that time, but it seems that the nets are now a permanent fixture.

Aside from the nets, I don't know if they've addressed it in any way.

They paid how much for that bathroom, and they couldn't screen it better? It looks worse at night. HM looks all creepy in the blue light, and what's that? Rapunzel's Giant Potty. Not a fan.

In your opinion? I'm going to go with Dinoland excluding Dinosaur. Just not Disney looking at all tacky looking carnival atmosphere IMO.

I can't stand primeval whirl. No theming what so ever. It looks like it was about 4:45 in the afternoon and they just drew some stuff on a storyboard so they could call it a day.

The need to hire those myth guys to blow up some of these eyesores, particularly the BAH. I would watch that and be highly entertained.

Yep. Between Rapunzel's Poop Tower and Soarin' Over Canada....

You know...that guy. Or gal. Whoever.

But the person, who back in the early 90s, looked at Epcot and looked at Disney-MGM and said "Hey...we need to make the Tower of Terror blend in with its surroundings."

Disney needs to find that person and re-hire him or her. Make them the President of the whole dadburned operation.
