I just spoke with Anna from WDW. She received my e-mail about concerns I had with the new Fantasyland Expansion.

I asked her some questions about what was going on at Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. She told me she couldn't deny or confirm anything that isn't solid because if it gets shelved then Disney will get some flak.

She told me that they have recieved A LOT of feedback about the new Fantasyland expansion and appreciate all of their guest's input.

With Magic Kingdom she told me that get ready to here an OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT THE NEW FANTASYLAND EXPANSION IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS.

I told her about my views on the Snow White Mine Ride might looking weird in the "Enchanted Forest". She didn't respond.

With Epcot... I know this was a FARFETCHED RUMOR...but Illuminations isn't going anywhere. She told me if World Of Color would be brought to Epcot it would only be for a short time as it wouldn't fit in with World Showcase.

THIS I THOUGHT WAS EXTREMELY BIG NEWS....HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS!!!!!

She told me absolutely not will the Sorcerer's Hat be moved. She told me because of Legal issues there is a reason why the hat is sitting where it is.

I then asked her about the removal of the Backlot Tour. She told she hasn't seen anything about that even being considered.

NOW WITH THE BIG NEWS!!!! I asked her about the possibity of Pixar Place getting an expansion...She said...."You'll have to wait and see" In a teasing way.

And I'm sorry I didn't ask about the Yeti. As soon as I got off the phone with her it popped in my head. What do you guys think? I love it!!! I'm sooo excited. =)

I think it is big news. She also couldn't tell me when the Haunted Mansion queue line was going to be finished

I also asked her about the possibility of a fifth theme park and she once again said..."You'll have to wait and see."!!!!

I've heard rumors that the replica Grauman's Chinese Theatre had some beef with being the main attraction in the Studios, and thus that the hat takes care of it. Now it's just a replica attraction, not the main street of the park.

BUT I think that I've heard others say that's urban legend.

Anyone here know for sure?

When we were there last year, and had our pictures taken in front of Rock n Roller coaster by the Photopass people, they made sure that we were composed so as to block the sponsor name, Hanes--some legal reason there. So it is plausible to me that the hat is covering the theatre to minimize it's exposure. I'd guess it's so that after a sponsor leaves, (in this case, 2017) family pics don't hang around with the old sponsor name or something. Only a lawyer could love that twisted logic, but it seems like that's what it must be.

I'd guess that maybe the REAL theatre didn't like people being confused as to where it REALLY is in the world.

As for the rest of it, sounds like vague marketing-speak customer service type stuff. I wouldn't doubt there will be some sort of announcement of some sort, soon, so that seems plausible.

So, before you get jumped on for not providing RealTrue™ Insider™ Info™, let me just say thanks for thinking to share this with us.

This just sounds like rehashed rumors and urban legends that have since been debunked. Rhonda Kendall, anyone?

Wait, is this guy for real? I'm not trying to be rude, but you seem very naive about how this works. Like Disney would leak anything about a 5th theme park (NOT HAPPENING) to someone who just called on the phone. Really?

i'm not saying she confirmed it. i'm just saying that she didn't deny NOR confirm. her response was "you'll have to wait and see" in a teasing way. I'm just letting you all know what she told me. thought you guys would of love to have some information.

W.F. Cinema Holdings are the owners to the Chinese theater and Disney would have to pay through the nose to get permission...*Sigh* So much for high hopes tho...

Yet I think it's interesting that there's a Few Chinese Theaters..

I strongly believe that the loss of the image rights to the theater is complete BS. It just doesn't make sense.

1. It isn't like it wa just constructed. They obviously had permission to use the building's likeness in construction of the park. Those agreements had to be long term, as in forever, because buildings are permanent. It isn't like a licensing right to a character that can be removed.

2. If they didn't have an open ended agreement the lawyers that drafted that document should face the firing squad. Besides, once the agreement was in place I would bet more people have visited the Studios and seen the Chinese Theater there then have been to the original in Hollywood. It would be fair to claim that once constructed Disney had every bit as much ownership of the building's likeness as the original owner. (This would be similar to franchising out a prototype.)

3. I find it very hard to believe that due to a "licensing" scuffle they would have to retroactively modify built structures. This isn't signage or billboards... Again, I just don't even think they would have built it without an iron clad agreement.

I know someone has researched this and proven it hogwash. I will find the article and post it when I'm back at a computer.

Having followed the construction of World of Color over at DCA it doesn't seem like the kind of attraction the could be brought in "for a short time".

well all i know is that when i asked her if the hat was going to be removed or relocated she said it can't for "legal" reasons. it might not include the gmr. we didn't go into detail about that.

Was "Anna" at the other end of a 1-900 phone number?

Ok, seriously, what number did you call? Was this Disney Reservations, WDW General Information or perhaps a Bus Driver Break Room?

I don't think a legitimate CM would be spouting off "information" like this. Sounds like perhaps she used to be a tour guide and now answers the phones.

As for the wait and see issues, there's a lot of rumors, and stuff i've been told might happen from some of my friends; granted, a lot of it possibly can change, but I'm excited of what I hear might be coming.

there should be a lot of changes in MGM after MK is done, if what i'm told is true... (and don't ask, i like to keep secrets)

as for fantasyland, yes, there will never be any major changes, it's so close to being done. They've been pushing to be done early, so I doubt theres room for changes (but never say never). i do know that small things get altered occaisonally, but we'll see overall :)

and if you think it looks bad to have the mine mtn next to the forest (which isnt TOO bad to me), how about working it out with the little mermaid coast next to it? apparently, it was an issue lately, of how to transition them well. I told my friend it was an easy fix, but then he told me MK wanted anotehr attraction where an effective transition would be... quality and show being pushed aside for numbers and quantity, go figure.

overall, very cool, and nice to hear some things! looking forward to the announcement

I'm so sick of the constant MI Coaster rumors, but never anything coming from them. I just want the damn thing to get built already!
