When is BTR scheduled to reopen? We're back for a visit for a few days starting June 1st and I realize it may be cutting it close.

ugh...august would make me sad but i realize these things happen. was hoping since we've been in a drought down here that with fewer rain delays it might reopen on schedule. we're seasonal pass holders and it's been closed since january but i'm hoping it will be reopen by our last trip before we hit our blackout dates (sigh)...but we're cutting it close going 6/1-6/4. here's to crossing fingers!

That would tick me off. It was closed in February when I went. The only reason it would still be closed until August is because they waited so long to do anything. But to have both Test Track and Thunder down at the same time in the summer is really, REALLY stupid.

That would really surprise me if it was closed until August. The summer months are the busiest months and having test track and Big Thunder down will drive people away. Plus who knows what other refurbs might pop up soon. This tells me either terrible planning or there's more going on than the general public is allowed to know. :lookaroun

It's not necessarily poor planning. Unfortunately with repair and remodels, you do not know the true scale of what you need to do until you begin. Perhaps as they began the remodels, there was hidden damage that needed repairs.

Yeah, they've been working quite steadily on BTMRR since it went down. There's been some photo updates of the track work and queue posted online elsewhere. I'd remain optimistic and say that unless we hear otherwise, the end of May is still probably their target period.

When I said drive people away, I meant a lot of the local summer traffic. Just saying that a huge reason that the summer months are busier is because they are filled with locals who are there for the day or weekend. Knowing some of their favorite attractions are closed might push them away from spending the extra money to go or maybe have them lean towards a different event in the summer. Sorry I should have clarified better. :wave:

Ok, with this extensive refurb my big question is; Are they going to fix the earthquake and falling rocks scene? The past few years, nothing happens going up that hill. When I first rode BTMR in the 80's it was awesome!

Rumor has it that it will be coming back, but as a projection. No idea how that will work though.
