Hello,
I am going back to Disneyland Paris in September 2009 for the second time and I was wondering as I don't live big rollercoasters but would to like to experience this attraction, I was wondering if any one could post a reply or PM me saying what happens going under both of the tunnels (from and to the seperate island) to basically put my mind at ease because all I can hear on Youtube is screaming  .
Thank You.

LOL....

BTM is a great family coaster (nowhere near as bad as Everest for example) and the Paris version is great.

**SPOLIERS**

Basically, the entry tunnel is very dark but not fast. The train goes down a slow dip into the dark, then after a short not-fast section turns sharp right into the rainbow cavern like in Orlando to begin the first climb.

The exit tunnel is noisy and fast but not rough; you turn into it, pass a few lights, then it is pitch black, apart from blacklight bats flying above the train. You continue to speed up in the dark - no drops or anything - then take a left turn at which time you see daylight ahead, and quickly climb out of the tunnel and into the brake zone. All good fun.

I love this ride but I'm afraid I would have to say it's a little more intense than the above post describes but still family friendly

If you've been on other coasters, this is nothing new but it certainly is more intense than other Bigh Thunder Mountain out there.

The tunnel drops are quite long and fast but essentially just a straight drop. Once you reach the bottom, you start to climb again and then go round the island. This part of it is relatively tame but with some turns.

My advice: go for it. There are no loops, no great surprises and no scary moments - just a few that are faster and darker than others.

I would rather poke my eye out with a blunt stick than go on a 'high density' roller coaster - yet I love this ride, BTM is a fast, fun ride and is not scary. You don't get strapped in to your seat, there are just lap straps so if it was a 'proper' roller coaster you would get strapped in (this is my reasoning anyway). The DLP one is different to WDW, which doesn't go under tunnels, and the tunnels to and from the island are dark and noisy but not scary.

I am not one for roller coasters at all but this ride is fantastic. I was in Paris in January and i rode it so many times just because it is so much fun :D

Not at all scary, just great, great fun.

Have fun in September!!!

I went on the ride yesterday. The tunnels are really just dark and I think that makes it seem like they are going fast. Nothing too crazy and the ride is no more intense than any other thunder mountain you would find in the world. It was a very good ride (and my first ever at Disneyland Paris)

Thank you for the answers everyone but unfortunately the trip was cancelled because of us changing the holiday to WDW in October 2010 but thank you anyway! :)
