Did I miss the change of the ride launch announcement at BTMRR? Apparently, our old prospector friend is now being goosed as he announces the "Wildest ride in the wilderness." I am assuming this came about in a rehab, but I clearly missed the announcement! :p

It changed about two years ago, says pretty much what it always said, just a different voice, I liked the original way better.

The difference between the two:

Old version - "'Cuz this here's the WILDest RIde in the WILderness."

New version - "'Cus this here's the WILDest RIDE in the WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLDERNESSSSSSSS."

I too like the old version.

Yeah, I know what you mean. My friend & I went in March of 2005 & 2006. After our '05 visit, we always joked about that line & found a recording of it. When we went this year, we noticed the emphasis was setup differently.. (as described above). It's still funny, but I liked the older announcement better. :hammer:

Thanks for the date. It is a very minor change, but it sounds like the guy is on speed or something. It's just a bit TOO cheesy now. The very odd thing is that I was watching a video of Remember at DL, and apparently theirs is still the same. I'm really not sure why it was changed at WDW and not DL.:veryconfu Perhaps Coke needs caffeinated voice overs as part of their sponsorship. :lookaroun

A couple years ago they added the Spanish safety warning. This is when the "wildest ride in the wilderness" got it's change.

Yer I noticed this a few years back, when they added the Spanish to it, but they have actually changed the spiel a bit, at the moment I can't remember exactly how the new one goes but every time I have rode it since the change I notice the difference because I automatically say the original.

I prefer the original version as the newer to me sounds quite cheesy.

Same voice, different safety warning. It used to be "Please keep your hands and arms inside the train, and remain seated at all times." They added "feet and legs", plus the emphasis at the end. As it was one of my favorite safety warnings to listen to (along with Space Mountain's old one), I noticed it immediately. :(

I preferred the old warning, but I have an audio clip of it somewhere. ;)

The new one is something like "Howdy Folks. For yer safty, keep yer hands arms, feet, and legs inside the train at all times and be sure to watch your kids! Now get ready, because this here's the WILDEST RIDE IN THE WILDERNEEEEESSSSS!!!!!"

Gaah, I agree, the new version sounds a little tacky. The old version was much better. I've noticed that alot of new spiels include "Be sure to watch your kids." Eh, put as many warnings as you like, but irresponisble parents still aren't going to do it.

the new version threw me off the first time i heard it. and you have a point, parents dont pay attention to their kids at WDW, and if they do, its to yell at them...
