Big Dig

Well, this is just a little venting that I need to do :)

(I'm sure all of you will laugh because it's typical of MA)

14 Billion dollars went into this little transportation/rebeautifying Boston project called "The Big Dig"

This "Great" project was to reroute all of the existing ramps/highways that originally went over/through the city...UNDERGROUND in tunnels.

Saturday at 11PM the new tunnel and beautiful new bridge was opened up to the public (Northbound only). This was the answer to Boston's transportation problems.

Well, an ordinary 35 minute commute into town (with no traffic)...was about an hour commute (with traffic)...but with the "Answer to Boston's traffic problems"...it only took me an hour and a half :)

(I want my money back  )

Yeah, it is pretty.

Well, it was probably that and the snow (hehe, did I forget to mention that? )

BUT...Yesterday...6 accidents in the new tunnel
Gotta love MA drivers :)

That's so annoying. Same thing happened here with the Hillside Strangler, its still messed up....but it used to be a lot worse, so what can you do.

That bridge is gorgeous!!!

I am trying to imagine explaining to my mom and mother-in-law that, to celebrate their special day, we are all going to go out and walk across a bridge. Is anybody really that mean?

I was thinking the same! Sooo much fun! I´m sure they will looooove it! LOL
So on that day, take the old route way ahead of time, because there will be a traffic jam on the new one! :animwink:

C'mon...if you had kids...wouldn't you want to walk across a bridge that nobody has tested out before?
