So I ABSOLUTELY was not expecting this, but I’m in World Celebration gardens now! I’ll take some pictures throughout my preview.

They’re blocking the (for some unknown reason) unfinished Moana restroom building.

Definitely not benches but that definitely won’t stop people. If they wanted it to be a message of “look, we reclaimed rusty metal because that’s environmentally-friendly,” just paint it to look rusty like they do in Cars Land. People will be angry when their clothes are ruined. It’s an example of an Imagineer ignoring daily operations (and nothing new, honestly).

They’ll need to change out the metal if it’s truly rusty.

Wonder if they can put some festive lights on all of those trees/foliage for the next Festival of the Holidays. Could really kick it up a notch.

The other site is reporting rusty "benches" (an imagineer told them it was a bench). Apparently they sat down on it and it left behind residue.

Curious to see when this is wet and someone sits or leans on it or kids rub their hands on it what comes off from it.

I think there are more than enough food and beverage kiosks in Epcot as it is.

This area was originally supposed to have a beer garden. It’s lacking something. Plants and benches ain’t cutting it.

I wouldn’t hate it if themed to the area. Maybe if this space didn’t take 5 years I wouldn’t be so meh too it.

I agree; people will sit on anything, even if it’s not quite the right height. I just find it hard to believe they were told it was an intentional bench. It’s like telling someone that the curb around a ground-level garden is a bench.

They've been on a campaign of adding built in walls that also function as benches, while simultaneously removing benches, for years. Just check out the Hub at MK. DAK has a lot of that going on too.

I didn’t notice that at first glance but i think you are correct, those don’t look like benches, the angles are off and the bolts along the front edge wouldn’t make sense on a bench either.

Looks a bit like the Nautilus, which makes me happy.

I'd imagine if it becomes an issue, and Disney wants to stop people from sitting on them - they'll install some uncomfortable protuberances on top of them.
Something that matches the patina.

It looks nice, but as I see more photos it really doesn't look like it was designed with operations in mind. I think it's going to be choked with people and not very pleasant, at least on the more crowded days.
