News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

It does feel like Epcot is losing a kidney
It already lost its heart (Journey into Imagination) and it’s soul (Horizons)...so this just follows that trend.
Maybe a lung, communicore was open and airy. It had little extra pieces of the stuff in future world and the windows looked out at the pavilions around you to get an idea of where you wanted to breeze off to next.

Covering everything with decals may have saved some money on air conditioning but it made the buildings much less approachable. Innoventions also got rid of the upper and lower levels where you could get a different perspective on the area.

You can see how big it seemed in this vid along with some earth station, another useful open space.

In this one you can see some of the upper level walkways around the inside. Also has the bus ride around ws at ~58 mins for another view you can't get any more.

The substantial ride-based announcements were always coming Sunday. Getting this preview of an overhauled Future World is extremely exciting. So much of the current iteration Future World has always been about getting the attractions done to get out and enjoy your time meandering through the World Showcase. Re-imagining Future World as a place you can slow down in while enjoying the scenery around you is a step in the right direction. (Not saying the original Future World did not accomplish this, just stating that in its current state, it is not a place guests go out there way to spend additional time).

Bring me Sunday!
THANK YOU for putting into words the positivity these changes deserve.

Why are people so excited for a walkway with fountains...?
Because it's the little touches that make a Disney theme park. Sure, the rides are important, but the general atmosphere of the park matters, and things like this, if executed well, can add a lot. AK is a major example of this.

Also to describe it as "a walkway with fountains" is probably equivalent to describing Splash Mountain as "a flume ride" or PotC as "a boat ride with some pirates".

Still not sure how I feel about this. It just seems to put the whole park off balance for me. And the three “neighborhoods” - World Nature, World Discovery and World Celebration kind of leave me confused. Which one is World Showcase? It's all "World" now, so why not change the name of the park itself to "Disney World" since that seems to fit their new ideas, or at least how they are presenting it.
Because Magic Kingdom is already "Disney World Park" to the normies.

Even though it clashes with the theme surrounding it but ok.

Also to say this is more than just a "walkway with fountains" is being extremely generous.

Oh, obviously I know that. I heard people ask me at Studios and Epcot often enough how to get to Disney World. I'm just saying since they are putting "world" in all of the land names they might as well go for the whole hog and put it in the park name as well.

How will the bgm change?
Since Disney doesn't know how to do it (and they needed his help to do it), @marni1971 will personally fly over to plug the new MP3 player in and press play. He'll also leave detailed instructions so they will know how to pause and play the music on their own just so we won't have another Imagination bathroom situation. Again.

I’m actually quite okay with the old soundtrack.

Maybe you're asking yourselves, "What's an EPCOT?"
Well, that's a good question.
Is it just another amusement park?
No.
Number one, EPCOT is the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.
And number two, EPCOT isn't just an anything.... ohhhh, no.
It isn't just a resort.
It isn't just a worlds fair.
Not just a cavalcade of wizardry, technology, and flair.
It's not just epicurean displays by international gourmets where one can dine, lunch, munch, crunch, for days and days and days.
Not just a festival of music, dance, the arts or education- nor a pageant for the sensors sparked by wild imagination.
Not just communication, nor the bounty of the land.
Not just the world of motion, nor the ocean, or the sand.
It's not just transportation, nor life, or sight, or sound.
Not just satellites in space, nor the fossils underground.
Where EPCOT is concerned there ain't no "just" about it.
EPCOT isn't just an anything- it's everything and more.
A great deal more than anything the world has seen before.
The perfect planned community- the splendorific sprawl.
And Epcot Center, it's the height of it all.
Just so there's no confusion, Epcot Center is located in the center of EPCOT.
And Epcot Center is made up of two parts, which is Future World and the World Showcase.
It's 2.5 miles from the Magic Kingdom, which is also part of EPCOT, which is what the entire 27,000 acre area known as the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow- or EPCOT- or Walt Disney World is called.
Just so there's no confusion.

I love that certain EPCOT fanboys are super mad about this.

Don't get me wrong I'm an EPCOT fanboy as well, but I've well passed the point of caring about sticking to the values the park had in the 80's and 90's because it's just not going to happen. I like most of what this expansion has to offer so far because most of it is adding to areas that have been vacant or lackluster for 10-20 years. The park might feel alive again and that would be a blessing IP or not.
