HarmoniUS getting replaced and The Hatbox Ghost finally coming to WDW.

That's the EPCOT fireworks show, right? Are they getting rid of the startgate and tacos? If so, good.

WDW is getting The Hatbox Ghost, so

Meh. The whole sudden hatbox ghost furor always seemed to be one of corporate's early and successes in engineering an "influencer" campaign to generate demand for merchandise.

They probably can't think of what to put there. I mean there's no space for a dark ride.
We were just talking about how WDI is great but hamstrung but now they cant think of anything to put there 6 years later?!? Im not coming at you but which one is it? I truly dk what can or cant fit there i do know there were a couple things that were rumored from reputable people on these boards that never happened. At the bare minimum give me a meet & greet as opposed to a shuttered building and i know they did that but last i checked its gone and the area is used to park strollers…

Just watched Adam the Woo's recap. The corporate drone on stage announces that a highly anticipated ride that was supposed to open, like now, is delayed until 2023..... and the crowd full of pixie dusters erupts in cheers. 😂 🤣 😂 🤣 😂

6 years ago? It was around 4 years ago when they dismantled Stitch and you have to keep in mind how much of that time everything was frozen because of the pandemic.

January will be 5 years and wasnt it only open seasonly before that? I dont buy the covid excuse bc it was down for a full 2 years prior even using the official close date of Jan 2018… last i checked you dont close a ride/attraction unless there is a plan in place or a replacement which apparently they had none. Wouldnt you agree?
According to what i just read. October 2016 it went seasonal…

We often are saying here that Disney needs to build more smaller scale attraction to balance and support the larger/expensive E-tickets that they favor. JoW is exactly the type of attraction. It's a good thing that they are willing to build it and we need more of that.

Except it's a smaller scale outdoor attraction* on prime land in the middle of Epcot in the middle of Florida taking up as much space as many e-tickets that is taking them how many years to build?

I think these are the things most of us take issue with.

*where outdoor means un-used 50% of almost every day in summer since people don't tend to enjoy standing in hard rain.

This whole plan feels very much like what they did with Hong Kong a few years ago with Toy Story Land, Mystic Point, and Grizzley Gulch. Build them each out so they open 1-2 years apart... just one major attraction in each section... even the planning feels like its going that way as it seems the CoCo idea waa much more thought out, followed by the Encanto isea, followed by the villians idea... now the real question is if it will ever actually happen...

I'm not totally against this, but maybe they should build out all of the empty Tomorrowland show buildings before embarking on expansions?
Our Tomorrowland is in much better shape than the one in Disneyland. So it can wait a couple more years to be honest.

So much for that “boundless creativity” that Josh d‘amaro assured us the company and inagineering was brimming with.
My point exactly….

That area has MILF , an empty Stitch attraction & Buzz falling apart. So representation of Tomorrowland. Not to mention the issues with SM & CoP desperately needing an update. But hey we got us some new narration for peoplemover so all is well 🤷‍♂️

I think it's closer to say The Hatbox Ghost mystery went viral before that really was a thing, and in the early 2000's corporate got wind and caught the wave. Those of us who've been fascinated by him since the early days know it runs deeper than merch, but I can understand that the thing and what it's evolved into don't necessarily "do it" for everybody.

Heck, we have someone already saying - apparently not intending to troll - they've heard from a source that the Moana blue sky concept is "close to being greenlit" and expected to open in '25 so. 🤷‍♂️

My sincere hope is that they can't honestly be this inept at PR and that they'd only show these things if they're a bit further along in development than they're letting on.
I think that’s exactly what this is. There’s a fairly recent example that is the perfect counter this “approach”

Yeah I mean they could greenlight it in a meeting today at 4 o'clock and it still wouldn't open in '25.
Green light today would mean 2027 at the earliest
