Better fireworks display: MK or Disneyland?

Going to Disneyland in a couple of weeks for the first time. I am a WDW veteran and nothing tops ending the day watching the fireworks in front of Cinderella's Castle. That being said, is there any comparison to Disneyland's Fireworks (I want to say the name is "Magical") and MK's Wishes? I always felt the best place to stand is in front of the castle but is it the same for Disneyland?

Remember is the best comparison to Wishes but that won't be showing for your visit. The storyline of Magical is nothing like Wishes but it's still a good show in my opinion. The best place to stand for any Disney park firework display is the front. You should find a spot early because Disneyland guests begin to find seats at least an hour before the show starts. Maybe even two hours.

A big difference, I'm even just finding out, between the firework displays on each coast is Tinkerbell. I'll leave it as a surprise. You'll see.

West Coast has some amazing tech (including Tink) that leaves Florida stuck in the 80s still. Magical is a great show. As is Wishes. Remember is the best regular show in a US castle park.

Given how some of DLs pyro is shot, stand to the rear of the hub to see it all. But DL is fundamentally flawed since they moved the remote site to build the TDA parking lot. High level pyro is now slightly offset to the west.

and if there is the slightest hint of a breeze, the show will be cancelled.

Magical is ok. I like the Mary Poppins music and Tink's flight is amazing. Remember the is best fireworks show I have ever seen in my whole life and I don't think any show could ever be more perfectly suited for me.
I like to stand in front of the castle to see the projections on the castle. I get a spot about an hour before the show.
Also, that is not how I usually end my night. After fireworks, I got catch the 10:30 showing on Fantasmic! That is a great way to end the evening.

"Remember... Dreams come true" at DL is my absolute favorite fireworks show. I saw it twice (2005 and 2006) and just thinking about it gives me goosebumps.

Disney attractions showcased through fireworks? Anytime.

I, too, am a WDW veteran. After having been 30 times and only DL, once. I like Wishes more. Magical is cool but I dont think the fireworks get as high as they do at MK. Dumbo and Tink is really cool tho at DL.

Whatever you do, don't compare them. Just enjoy them and he happy you are at DL. (while we are all working and highly jealous!) ha

I haven't seen Magical but Remember at DL is much better than Wishes. I like how Remember has the "tour" of the park and some of Wishes music incorporated.
I have to agree -- Remember blows Wishes out of the water. I do like them both, but California definitely has the superior show.

Why in the world is Remember not running if it is such a superior fireworks show? Not that "Magical" would leave me disapointed (is that even possible at Disney?) but if there is an agreement that Remember is the best then why isn't it always featured?

Also, I might have missed it, but what is the name of the parade at night? Or is there one at DL?

It's the summer. Magical is shown during the summer. Remember comes back shortly after you leave, I believe.

The parade you're referring to is Soundsational. It's not a night parade so to speak but there are two showing, one in the afternoon and one in the evening.

We have a different fireworks show for each season. Remember is the spring show (for the most part), Magical in summer, Halloween show in the fall (now for party guests only) and Holiday show in winter.

Better show.. DL
Better fireworks.. MK

Remember brings in so many elements that make it a very very impressive show. Magical is like a neutered Remember.. show.

Edit to add: DL has better fireworks in the sense they use 360 fireworks in several shows, where WDW uses them only for special occasions. But MK has the high altitude and bigger shells.

If I remember the Al Lutz columns from a few years ago correctly, Remember in its original form required a pretty substantial part of the park to be closed when it was going on, and Disney wanted a show that could be more flexibly performed during the busy summer season.

I liked how pyro was shot off the MS buildings and the castle fire! Tink on the west coast gets annoying after a while IMHO

The only parts of the park that are closed during each firework show at DL, not just Remember, are Toontown and Fantasyland. Not that big a deal, it could be worse.
