Hi there

I booked a week at the BWLBV Disney View with the balcony for my engagement trip in December. Just curious if anyone has done this before and what kind of view is the "disney view"?

Am planning to propose on the balcony with a nice bottle of wine. Something simple and romantic.

I would suggest taking away your photo from your avatar or not leaving your account signed in if you want to keep the proposal a surprise!!

Wow, now I'm bummed about my hotel room.

Crap.

Don't be bummed!!!!
If you've booked a Disney View it won't just be of the bus terminal- I've stayed here several times, you can see the whole of Downtown Disney AND Disney World- Fireworks at night and the Epcot ball is quite clear! MK fireworks are in the distance but definitely still a visible show! If you want to propose on the balcony then I'd wait till at night time, it can look very pretty with all the lights, and then of course the fireworks.

Definitely request a high floor though, the higher the better. We've stayed on the 17th floor once and the 16th floor twice. Here was our view last time from the 16th floor:

Looking out towards Epcot:

To the right way in the back, those little buildings are the Contemporary and the BLT, that's where you see the MK fireworks- honestly though it looks further away in pics

Zoomed out a bit with the camera to show Epcot and the Boardwalk Area, in front SSR.

To the left of our view, Downtown Disney. NOT just the parking lot!!

And the sunsets are pretty nice :)

So again, don't be bummed! Make sure you tell the staff your plans- maybe they can make sure you are on a high floor? And if you are in Disney, yes you still could propose in the parks! Have a good trip :)

Here's a better "whole view" pic, but again the pic makes it look further away than in real life.
Things will seem much closer.

Now post the pics of the area from say the Contemporary...I think that's what he is anticipating, not the fact you can see the DTD balloon and a little bit of spaceship earth from the strip hotels...

I think he wants your typical castle in-view proposal...not just a little bit of Disney property in the background.

Well I was simply posting what the view was from the hotel, since that's what he was asking and because I've stayed there. I just wanted to show the OP that it wasn't that bad of a view and that it isn't just a view of the bus garages- since he's already booked his trip.

Of course it's not going to be like the view from The Contemporary which is next door to the MK and has probably the best view in Disney- but I was assuming the OP would know that since he booked a hotel at 1/6th the price in the Downtown Disney area, and posted in an "off-site hotels" thread. I figured he was just asking what the view was from a Downtown Disney Area Hotel.

I'm booked in a Disney view room and on the hotel site it clearly shows Illuminations off the balcony in the distance. Additionally the hotel manager assured me I would be able to see fireworks from my Disney view suite. I'll be there the week of Thanksgiving.

I have been in the Disney view rooms at the Best Western (when it was Travelodge) and the old Grosvenor (now Wyndham), and loved both! The rooms were beautiful, clean, and smelled fantastic. The views were wonderful; I could see everything--even the fireworks in the distance at night! I'm getting nostalgic now; it was so magical.
