Best Value Resort?

Our last trip to WDW, in August 2005, we stayed at the All-Star Sports resort. My kids really enjoyed the atmosphere:D and I enjoyed the fact that the bus service was outstanding to and from the parks. We're going again in August and I want to stay at a different value resort. Any suggestions? I need specifics too, i.e. which building is closest to the food court and buses, which resort has the quickest busing to the parks. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would advise against Sports. All teenage groups are being placed there and the upkeep of the rooms shows it. The cast there does what they can, but the place is always overcrowded with wild teens. I would say either Movies or Pop Centruy personally.

I couldnt agree more!!!! I would personally recommend Pop. I have stayed there three times thus far and it is the newest of the Value and doesnt share bus service with any other resort unlike the All Stars!!!! Belle

We've done all 4. My favorite is Pop for the awesome theming and the fact that it doesn't share busses w/ 2 other hotels. Movies comes in a close second. Although Pop is really just a 4th All-Star without the name and in a seperate location.

I would recommend either Pop or Movies. Pop is the largest hotel on property so it doesn't share bus service with another resort. Movies is at the end of the line for busess, but my wife prefers it to Pop. As far as which building to request, for me, the farther from the food court the better. Too noisy close the the food court or a pool.

If its value your after, STAY OFF - PROPERTY

We used to stay in the Kissimee tourist trap strip a lot until we tried All Star Music a few trips back. We won't ever go back to those places now.
They weren't really horrible, but they seemed a lot less safe with all of the strangers roaming around. You know there have to be a lot of people hanging around there just to feed off the tourists...it's easy pickings for the thieving-inclined. I like the Disney theming and the security gates at the All Stars. We are staying in Movies in February (right around the corner!). We drive, so bus stops aren't an issue.

I've also stayed at Coronado Springs, but only because I got the rate at half price via connections. Wish I could afford a deluxe.

I would rather stay in a bad All Star Sports room than stay off property. Transportation service and Extra Magic Hours (Evening) are two things I really love.

Pop Century hands down! If you don't want to pay the extra money to stay in the 60's building I highly recommend the 70's buildings. The rooms and food court are similar to All Star but I found it less chaotic and less crowded.

Have you ever seen an off-property value hotel? They make the All-Star Sports look like a palace.:hammer:

No Im just used to quality British accomodation.:veryconfu

Yes once stayed at a Ho Jo on a special deal with Virgin, cost less for the two of us for 14 nights than the normal flight only for one. Did however check out early and stay at POR for a few nights.:)

We used to rent villas, have never stayed at a value resort too many friends with horror stories of marauding cheerleaders and wannabee afffleets
