We will be using the DDP for the first time in September 2012 (free of course!) and wondering what are some of the best snacks to get with your credit? best value? anything unique?

In my opinion (and many others on this forum) .... Dole Whip Float. Soft serve pineapple ice cream in pineapple juice. YUM!! Get one at Aloha Isle in Adventureland at the Magic Kingdom and nurse it while you watch the parade.

Cupcakes at Starring Rolls Cafe in Hollywood Studios. They're huge and can easily be split between 2 people. (My personal favorite is the Red Velvet Cream cheese cupcake...but the others get great reviews as well)

Fresh, warm caramel corn from the Karamel Kitchen in Germany

Cinnamon roll at Main St Bakery - so huge. Can easily be split between 2 people!

Mickey's cookies & cream ice cream sandwich

Popcorn!

I second the HUGE cinnamon roll from the Main St Bakery.

Also, did I miss something, there is free dining available for Sept 2012?

NM, Canadian resident. Didn't notice that. Sorry!

There is free dining a few months into the new year for everyone i believe, then specifically in august/september for canadian residents only. The only catch is we have to book by dec 16th, that makes for a long wait till the trip but it will be worth it!

I also love the giant ice cream sandwiches made on the spot with hot cookies of your choosing, but note that these only seem to count as a Snack credit at the Main Street Bakery in MK, not at Fountainview in Epcot.

You can also get them as a Snack at Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square (my preference, though chocolate chip is the only cookie option), the ice cream window by Restaurantosaurus in Dinoland, and I think at the ice cream place in front of Tower of Terror.

The Fountainview at Epcot is an oddity, because I'm not sure it's a Disney-operated location (and each location chooses what is and isn't a Snack beyond the generic items listed in the DDP brochure)

Oooh, now you've got me drooling with that photo! Do you know if the Sleepy Hollow and Restaurantosaurus locations consider it a Snack as well? I've heard that the AK location has some different ice cream flavors as well although I havent' looked into it yet.

All of the locations offer it as a snack, except apparently Epcot.

I think Studios is the only location that has a choice of ice cream, though not sure if they have a choice of cookie type.

AK and Main Street Bakery offer vanilla ice cream and a choice of cookies.

Sleepy Hollow is chocolate chip and vanilla only, though I've found that Sleepy Hollow is often your best bet for the freshest cookies, as they bake them on-site in small batches as necessary. (I've actually had to wait and come back to Sleepy Hollow because they'd just run out, and the ones that just came out of the oven had to cool for 20 minutes before they could serve them.)

Drooling yet again for hot chocolate chip cookies filled with melting ice cream! I just might have to make some at home with the kids over Thanksgiving weekend although they'll never taste as good as eating them at Disney would!
