Does anyone have a preference on which resort to stay at with young kids? We are doing Pop but wondering if there is one that would be better?:)

I think if you are looking at value, I would do Art of Animation. Its pretty sweet!! How old are the kids? BC there are pirate rooms at Caribbean which look so cool and Princess rooms at PORS which are really amazing!

POP is perfect if you're on a budget. I like it better than All Stars. AOA would be best, if you can afford a suite, otherwise the Mermaid rooms are OK just small and far away from the main complex. I think any of the resorts are nice for kids. Perhaps except GF. I know Saratoga Springs was geared more toward adults, but now they have an awesome new pool and quite a few more options for kids.;) The POLY, Contemporary, BLT, and Coronado Springs aren't quite as kids friendly IMHO.;)

All the Value Resorts are great with young children. It's an adventure and children tend to enjoy the larger-than-life theming of the Value Resorts.

Pools seem to be what children enjoy and remember the most. For a Moderate Resort, Port Orleans Riverside and, for a Deluxe Resort, the Yacht and Beach Clubs probably have the best pools.

As others have noted...it all depends on budgets and the kids.

I'll be honest, if given the choice I think my kids would pick the values every single time. The larger than life decorations really call out to kids. In the same vein, the pirate rooms at CBR and royals at PORS are also really appealing to kids. Beyond that...each of the deluxe resorts have things that could appeal to children...but it depends on the children. My kids have 0 desire to stay at the GF or Poly, but that's right now. In a few years they may change their tune. They also really weren't all too impressed with what they saw of Stormalong Bay over at YC & BC, but in a few years they'll probably beg for it. On the flipside, they loved Luna Park at BWI, the boat at WL is a huge hit, animals at AKL is super popular with kids, and my children LOVE the Contemporary. Yeah- some of it may be brainwashing from me, but they love knowing they can easily get to MK on foot.

Of all the Values (and kids like Values!) I think Pop impresses kids least of all. They don't remember the 80s...and they don't care about any of the nostalgic stuff.

Kids will be much more impressed by the All-Stars and AoA. AoA is priced kind of high for a Value, though.

But the things kids like most about hotels are the pool, jumping on the bed and room service. Kids will happy anywhere, if nobody tells them they shouldn't be. :)

Yes, but Pop is across the lake from AoA! And, every kid knows what a bowling pin and a Yo Yo is, even if they don't get the cultural references!

LOL, mine loved the Value Resorts but started developing champagne tastes when they reached their teenage years!

I know it will happen with the girls at some point. Right now it's all about the novelty...even though some of their requests are a bit more painful on the wallet, but there is going to come a time in the not so distant future where they want more

We've stayed at POP twice & AOA once. I would have to say that AOA's theming & food court beat out POP. My DD was a month shy of 4 on our trip in September & she liked both resorts! She thought that the bowling pins & the potato heads were pretty neat at POP but, she absolutely fell in love with the LMR at AOA. She wants to stay in the Nemo Section next time! Too bad there will probably only be 3 of us & I can't justify the cost.

Again, depending on the budget, I would say Wilderness Lodge over any of the others for kids -- an amazing pool, lots of programmed kids activities at the pool, plenty of on-resort dining options, one big resort with short walks to the rooms, elevators (kids love fast elevators), boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom, etc....

If you don't want a Value hotel, the next two I notice kids likening are Contemporary and AKL, in that order. I really hate the Contemporary, but have gone there many times to make kids happy. My first visit to AKL was for a kid...and I fell in love with it. It is now far and away my favorite.

The adults all consider or pick the Poly, but I've never seen a kid care anything about it.

I have yet to have any kid ask to stay anywhere but Values, CR or AKL. The 11 and under set usually wants Values, may God help us all. ;) :)

I have to say AKL with a savanna view. We stayed at pop before but nothing compares to seeing giraffes outside your room. Not just that there is tons to do there with kids.
