We are heading to WDW next week for 5 nights! We are pass holders and residents of FL so this is our third trip this year. We know how hot June can be and since we don’t have to rush and try and try and see EVERYTHING. We want to spend some time poolside relaxing to escape the oppressive Orlando heat. We are traveling with a 2.5 year old who loves to swim. We are also staying at All-Stars Sports.

My question, what are the top best 5 resort pools for toddlers?

Since you are staying at the All Stars Sports you will have to use the pools there (never stayed there so I don't know about them).

We have stayed at the Poly, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge & Boardwalk Inn and the Poly has a nice pool for the youngsters.

Anything zero-entry is good. But the best hotel toddler water area has to be at the Nick hotel.

Can't you use the pools at other resorts if you are staying on property? I think the beach club is the only exception. You need a wrist band to get in there.

I thought for pretty much all of them they had signs saying that if you weren't a guest at that resort you weren't allowed to use them. I haven't been to every pool, but I know the Poly, Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian and Caribbean Beach all had those signs as of a couple years ago. Now, at that point it becomes more of an honor system type of thing because I doubt that they really check to make sure you're staying at that resort.

If you are staying at All-Start Sports, you may only use the pools at the three All Star Resorts. The official rule is that you may only use the pool at the resort that you are staying at. The nicer pools on property will check to make sure that you are a guest at that particular resort.

There are no checks at any of the moderates or at some of the deluxes, including AKL. It mostly operates on the honor system as HumblePirate said. The mod and deluxe pools have water slides, so you might consider staying at one of them instead of at All Stars if you can. Both water parks also have nice toddler areas.

Please ignore the comments suggesting that you can visit any Disney Resort Pool that you would like. Especially if you go when it's hot and starts to get crowded.

The official rule is that you may only swim at your Resort's pool. In the case of the All Star Resorts, you may swim at any pool at any of those three Resorts.

Guests are not permitted, by rule, to swim at a pool belonging to a Resort Hotel they're not staying at. The Deluxe Resorts will indeed enforce this rule, and some Moderates do when it gets crowded.

But since you're staying at an All Star, you won't have any trouble finding a pool suitable for your young children, so no worries.

Also, you can ignore the comment about the "Nick" pool, as that's not even a Disney hotel.

That's so awesome that you're teaching your kids to not follow the rules!

BTW, to the OP, the All Star pools are great. They don't have slides, but are lots of fun, especially for kids.

I have seen people escorted out of the pool area of both the Poly & WL because they were not staying there. The lifeguards will ask for your room key to check the code. At one time they would put a colored sticker on the card, but we haven't had that done in years.

All Stars has the worst toddlers, my pool buddies hate them...My favourite thing to do at Pop Century pool is splash all the toddlers especially those not even staying at a Disney resort

The kid might enjoy the sprinklers that are offered in some of the parks such as Epcot! Many younger kids enjoy these, just remember to bring a change of extra clothes to the park!

The pools have signs saying that they are only for guests staying at that particular resort. Some check room keys, and will not allow you to enter/stay if you are not staying there. Others depend upon the honor system, which relies on trusting that people have integrity and will follow the posted rules without having to be supervised. Regardless of what the rules might have been in the past, or the fact that they inconvenience you.

But, you can always ignore them at your own peril - just don't complain if you are punished/embarrassed when called on it. ;)
