When I was down there this weekend I realized that my favorite part of SSE is going backwards - especially where the VR classroom is at the top. This weekend SE stopped while I was at that sequence for about 5 minutes, and I must say that i was very comfortable in that position.

Anyone else have any commnets or suggestions

PS... I just booked my trip for MAY!!!

Before I even read your answer I thought to myself, "My favorite part is going backwards!" It is quite relaxing! Thats one of the parts I like in the haunted mansion also even though its very quick and doesn't last nearly as long as the SE backwards portion.

That ride is great after a long hot day in Epcot.... although I can never remember the backwards part. I am ussually out by Snow White on TV!

The backwards part of SSE was always my favorite part of that ride, though it was better when they played Tomorrow's Child during it, very soothing :)

SSE scares me. A lot. It scared me when I was 6, and it scared me last week when it stopped every few feet and several different voices told us to "please remain seated." :o
BUT I do like the part with the fancy telephone lines =)
Least favorite part? When several elderly people in front of us took many MANY flash photos of the Earth just before you go backwards. I wanted to take their cameras and turn the flash off for them. Maybe they would have gotten a decent photo or 12.

I do like the backwards part of SSE, however, due to the akward placement of the headrests, my neck does not enjoy it as much. My favorite part of SSE would have to be the Renniasance section with the Sistine Chapel. Burning Rome comes in a close second. As for my favorite part of any ride, I'm quite partial to the ballroom in Haunted Mansion and the barn theater portion of Living with the Land.

I know it's cliche, but I love the top part of SSE, with the large starscape. I really think its breathtaking. As far as other rides which are great, I love Dinosaur in AK, I just love it. And the best ride EVER.......the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. May it live forever!!! "NOW APPROACHING........SPACE MOUNTAIN......."

When it comes to SSE, I am partial to the Renaissance scene as well as the top of the ride. Going backwards kinds hurts my back a little...I'm tall and thin so my spine bumps against the back of the seat. :(

For other attractions: I absolutely love when you fly out of the nursery and over London on Peter Pan, I love the ballroom scene on HM, and I love *everything* about the TTA! :D

Me too.

The star scape at the top holds a fond memory. I'd taken a few trips to Disney on my own then treated my mother to a trip. Spaceship Earth was her first ride - right after we entered the park. After staring at the stars and the Earth and then starting the descent she started to cry - good tears I hasten to add.

My favorite part of SSE is when your car turns sideways and you see the stars, at the top ...my spine tingles at that point... I like the entire ride, but that bit just gets me...

My favorite part of my favorite ride, Space MOuntain..is right after you dip next to the lift hill, and make a turn and drop, then make two more tight turns and the llllllllllllloooonnngggg drop...I love that part...

"Finally, from the depths of the dark ages came the age of Enlightenment ... The Renaisannce" .... awesome. Love the music transition here.

I, personally, love the optimistic imagery of the ancient world of yesterday connected by a grand and magnificent bridge to the gleaming, shining, promising world of tomorrow. You know that scene, where all of a sudden, an awesome fiber-optic starfield starts pulsating over your heads as you descend backwards into the loading station.

From a standpoint of metaphor appreciation, that bridge just explodes with inspirational power...

My favorite part of Spaceship Earth is also the reveal of the Earth and stars
at the top just as the car turns.

For Space Mountain, I love the largest drop (the 4th and final straight drop), but my favorite part actually occurs earlier in the ride, and is most noticable on the front seat of the OMEGA track.

Just after the second spiral, in which you are dropping gradually to the right in a slightly tighter radius than the first spiral, there is a long straigtaway.

Next, a left hand turn followed by another straigtaway, and you are conscious of being close to the roof here as you are along the outer edge of the building.

Next is an uphill climb which will serve to set up the series of 4 straight drops that make up the middle portion of the ride, and the part I am referring to occurs at the top of this uphill:

A WICKED, aggressive, strong pop of abrubt “airtime” – easily the strongest air I’ve gotten on any Disney coaster!

Even after this moment, the speed and intensity of the ride seem to INCREASE as the ride goes on, which is reasonably unique for a coaster.

It is for these reasons that, from a thrills point of view, Space Mountain Omega remains my favorite WDW coaster, and favorite steel coaster in Florida!

For some reason this identical moment (the wicked pop of airtime) on ALPHA track is much more subdued. I think it has to do with the slight difference between the two tracks occurring near this portion of the ride due to the crossing of the near-mirror image tracks into each other’s territory.

From a thrills point of view, my fave part of Splash Mountain is the dark drop and climb in the middle of the “Laughing Place” sequence.

But aesthetically, I love the AA scenes and songs so much that it’s really hard to pick a “favorite” moment. In the finale where the gator is biting Brer Fox’s tail, and Brer Fox is yelling at Brer Bear “Stop that singing” – this part makes me laugh out loud no matter how many times I’ve seen it!

The beginning of Peter Pan’s Flight is a sublime magical moment that gives me goosebumps. Everything about it seems perfect. The way the stuffed bear and his friends are set up at the little table for a snack perfectly captures the innocence of childhood, and this mood is perfectly captured by the audio, the music, and the rest of that scene.

Peter Pan then takes us to Neverland via a flight over London which is simply breathtaking!

The finale always cracks me up because of the silly grin on the crocs face as he is approaching, and then munching on Captain Hook!

The Snow White ride doesn’t seem as highly acclaimed but there are some moments in it that I think are very well done.

Particularly Snow White’s flee through the forest just after she learns a psychotic madwoman is trying to kill her. Naturally in her imagination the trees and logs (as gators) are also after her, as are the suspicious eyes staring – which turn out to be the lovable and friendly forest animals. The music used in this scene, from the score of the film, fits the mood perfectly, and this scene reminds us how our imagination can sometimes get the best of us, and that many fears and anxieties ultimately turn out to be “false alarms”.

Definitely re-entry, going back down with the lights overhead and the relaxing music. When I go for my accupuncture appointments, I often think about that part of the ride.

OMG me too! When I was little it was pretty comfortable, but now my head barely touches the headrest so it really bothers my neck going backwards. Anyways, my favorite part starts at going through the big neon globe all the way to the end(the music is awesome!).
