LOL, great way to explain the technical stuff, Rob!

What about WED Way? That would be my vote, but I voted for the carousel theater. It must be the most efficient theater in terms of getting people in. Shorter lines, and just a cool idea. if they do get rid of COP, I think they should still keep the rotating theater idea for future shows.

Another point :)

You gotta discern wether it is your vehicles or the ground the vehicle is on that is moving.

Perfect example: UoE :animwink:

The turns for the "big bang" and "KNRG" sequences aren't the vehciles rolling about the ground, but rather a large turntable they're positioned on top of at the time.

Similarly, the ToT vehicles move into the real "lift" for the drop shaft for that sequence.

The elevator cabs at the Hollywood Tower Hotel are amazing. They are self powered and with the right controller could be driven right out of the building. (Of course don't get any ideas, they only go 3 mph and a few thousand feet before needing a recharge.)

This poll is quite innacurate. While there are many ride systems in use at the parks, several can be eliminated. "Rotating cars" such as SE are THE SAME as the doombuggies. They just look different, and are more uncomfortable. Dinosaur and TT vehicles are basically identical as well, or at least from what I've heard. You could add Autonomus Guidewire Based Systems, such as UoE TGMR and ToT. Horizons and Peter Pan fall under overhead tracked systems. You also forgot to mention rotating rides. Dumbo, astro-orbiter, etc...Rollercoasters need its own category. Believe it or not, all rollercoasters on disney property are steel. Even Big Thunder. "Bouncing Cars" Are just mere modifications to the single rail system. In fact, you could use any type of car on it.

-- side note --

I saw some kid that almost got ran over by a hunny pot on pooh. Ouch!

-- end side note --

Er, yeah.

isnet,

You may be right about how the vehicles fall into mechanical categories, but I don't belive that mechanical is the only qualification. Best Ride Vehicle also takes into account, comfort, themeing, load efficiency, audio delivery, etc. With these accounted for each of teh vehicles witin a mechanical type are quite different.

BTW: Dinosaur is a wire guided battery fed simulator on wheels, TestTrack is a track powered, track guided slot car.

The power to run the car on Test Track comes from the car itself. It IS on a track though. :)
