Best Disney Restaurants per Yahoo

Wait, you mean the Enchanted Tiki Room in Disneyland isn't a restaurant? I know it as the place I sit and watch birds while I'm eating a Dole Whip. :p

Yahoo's little snapshot doesn't show the full list, but you can see the rest at Travel + Leisure. I do think there are other standouts in the slideshow beyond just Jiko. Napa Rose and Victoria and Albert's certainly deserve to be there. I think Kouzzina and the Carnation Café do too, largely on the strength of their breakfasts.

I saw this on Yahoo! today so I thought I'd share. Basically the article from Travel and Leisure listed to Top Disney restaurants & places to get snack. Here is a link and I posted their top ones too.

http://travel.yahoo.com/ideas/best-disney-restaurants-for-all-tastes-214146215.html

Their top places to dine ....
1. Jiko
2. Enchanted Tiki Room/Disneyland (for the Dole Whip) which is really called Tiki Juice Bar, they also mention it can be found at Aloha Island (which is really Aloha Isle) in WDW
3. Flying Fish Cafe
4. Rose & Crown
5. Cinderella's Royal Table
6. Beaches and Cream Soda Shop
7. Sci-Fi Dine In
8. Kouzzina
9. 50's Prime Time
10. Liberty Tree Tavern

Does anyone agree with their choices? I haven't eaten at all of them but I can certainly think of other restaurants I would put on the list instead, like 'Ohana or Whispering Canyon. But it is nice to see they didn't pick all expensive places either.

I also found it interesting that couldn't write the correct name for the place to buy Dole Whips in either Disneyland or Magic Kingdom.

Totally strange. Totally random. It's like they had a list of Disney restaurants on the wall and threw darts at it to pick the best.

That's exactly what I was thinking. It's all over the place! In one way, I'm OK with it because many of their choices are good or fun, but on the other hand- it feels kind of thin or lacking in some places.

The list is the best Disney restaurants for all tastes, which explains why Sci Fi and 50's Prime Time are on there. It's still a really random list. Plus, I hate it when they lump Disneyland and Disney World together. I always get excited for a split second that there is something new that I didn't know about in WDW. Then I realize it is only in CA.

They didn't list Sunshine Seasons, which to me, is a travesty considering how much favorable reviews it gets. I mean, come on, the variety is there and the quality is great! Boma and Sanaa were not listed, as well. (Is African-inspired food really that bad in their view? It's nothing like Bizarre Foods from what I've heard. Plus a buffet just screams variety.) and gets decent reviews. But it's a random list and not really well thought out in my view.

Liberty tree? Not a fave of mine.

Yeah, that's one of the biggest head-scratchers on the list for me too. I get they're trying to include "only at Disney" themed restaurants, which explains why BOTH 50s Prime Time AND Sci-Fi are on the list, but Liberty Tree seems so content to be barely adequate in every way I don't understand why it was included instead of dozens of other more deserving locations.

List just looks like a decent cross-sampling of experiences. I'm willing to bet The Enchanted Tiki Room was an error. I'm guessing the writer probably meant to write Spirit of Aloha or O'hana there.

I guess the real question with this is do they mean lunch or dinner? The two are so different. I had a great lunch there, but I don't think I would ever try the buffet dinner.

Hahaha....I love this, 50's Prime Time is the only place on here that I even remotely like, and its not even in my top 15, so hopefully that means everyone will think these are the best places to eat and open up all the reservations for the places I want to eat.

I like Liberty Tree lunch, but I wouldn't rank it as a WDW top restaurant. Nor would I put Columbia Harbour House on there, no matter how much I love it.

If you click on the link at the bottom of the article, it is for Best Disney Restaurants, both parks, and my new favorite "Flaming Tree Barbeque" ....seriously do they not have copy editors or fact checkers!

Good question. I've had both, but only lunch more than once. I like it, it's pleasant without being outstanding (both food and decor), but it feels pretty restrained in a park where almost every other dining location is turned up to 11 in one way or another. The dinner is really underwhelming and not something I'd want to do again.

That's why it seems like such an odd choice for any kind of list like this one. Neither meal contains anything especially memorable, and it isn't a particularly good value. In a place like the Magic Kingdom it is simply...a place that serves food.
