Best Day of the Week for a Water Park

What's the best day to visit a water park? Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. We will be at WDW 5/12-20. So which day is least crowded for either water park?

As a general rule of thumb the weekdays are a little less crowded. The real trick to the water parks it to get there early. You will want to be there around 30 to 45 minutes before park opening and as soon as you go in lay claim to a lounge chair or two...preferably ones that are under cover. This will give you a place to leave your stuff and if you get one that is covered you have a place to hide from the inevitable summer time storms. I have not been to BB but in TL there are several covered areas next to the Shark Reef that are my favorites.

If you're just planning on lounging definitely go to Typhoon Lagoon. The pool by Crush n Gusher is usually not too crowded (I go in the summer so you'd expect a water park to be packed), so if you can find a chair it's perfect. Just get there pretty early :).

If you get there early enough it shouldn't matter what day of the week it is.

We went to blizzard beach in August, we were staying at SSR. Got there at 8:30 the park opened at 9, we left at 1:30, 2. We were the second car in the park, when we left the parking lot had been closed for at least 2 hours, as a rule of thumb it is least crowded during the middle of the week, but depending on the time of year that changes too. But the best day I can say to go to them would be the hottest one. :animwink:

touringplans.com does say that Saturday & Sunday (in that order) are the least crowded days for water parks. I can't speak from experience yet, but we are going to give Sunday a try on our next trip in May.

Anybody every rent towels? Since most airlines are now charging for checked luggage, we are not planning on taking beach towels. I was wondering if the towels are small like the ones at the resort pools or are they more beach towel size? Also is it safe to leave things, i.e. shoes & bag with clothes, sunscreen etc. by your chair or should you get a locker for everything?
