Two crying toddlers, husband MIA, and we were soaked from an unexpected rain. A bell hop gave my kids each a huge Mickey cookie, gave us some towels and found us a nice quiet corner to recoup.

I made a post about my story a couple months ago but I'll share again since it's so appropriate.

I stayed at Caribbean Beach in early July with my girlfriend. It was her first ever trip to WDW. Our excitement immediately disappeared once we discovered the mass of Brazilian tour groups at the resort. So we tried to make the best of it until our third day. We were walking over the bridge to Caribbean Cay on our way to Port Royal when five or six Brazilians came running from behind us. They pushed passed us and in the process stepped on my girlfriend's ankle causing her to fall. We immediately went to the Customs House to tell management. We weren't really expecting them to do anything but we wanted them to know about who they are letting on their property. To our surprise she asked if we'd like to transfer to another resort. We said wow that would be great. She made some calls and told us that the other Moderate Resorts had the tour groups as well but Wilderness Lodge did not have any and would take us at no extra charge to the rate we paid for the week at Caribbean Beach. We were beyond amazed and elated. My girlfriend needed a wheelchair to manage the parks but it really made the trip a whole lot better.

Last October we were staying at All Star Movies, we had gone to Epcot that day and my then almost 2 year old son did not take a nap as he had every other day at the parks. We get back to the room and he falls asleep, but as most parents will know he didn't sleep that well after missing his nap and woke up screaming for milk at 12:45 am. Since we did not have anything in the room I ran as fast as I could to the main building from the Mighty Ducks section of the resort only to find the store and foot court to be closed (as I expected them to be). So I went to the front desk completely out of breath and told them my situation and the manager overhears me and takes me over to the store that has been closed for at least an hour, lets me pick out the milk I needed, and sent me on my way. I was completely amazed that they did this for me, and I'm sure the people staying in the rooms next to us were pleased as well. The next morning I made sure to find the day manager to let him know how much it meant to me that his staff had been so helpful. Funny story, the same thing happened at a hotel in South Carolina a few months later and the people at the hotel told me to go to the nearest gas station, maybe I should learn my lesson and make sure to have milk on hand every night I stay at a hotel :)

On our trip two years ago we were taking pics in front of POTC and a cast member named Nathan came up and asked if we would like him to snap some shots...very thoughtful right? Well, then he asks if we intend to ride POTC to which we reply "of course" he asks if HE can tag along. "Sure" we reply. He proceeds to take us through a back hallway right to the front of the ride, places us in a boat with just him and our family then proceeds to give us a guided tour of the ride with all the little known facts. It has been two years now and I still remember his name because the guy actually embraced the magic of Disney and was willing to share it randomly.

Another moment was four years ago when we were at MGM (forever MGM!!!!) and our daughter who was five at the time was at the end of her rope. A kind snowbird employee noticed her glum demeanor and approached her. She had a bunch of trading pins and offered her one to start her collection off with. Our DD did not have any pins yet to trade and was offered this pin free of charge out of the kindness of the cast members heart.

Now I have not been to Universal but have been to many other "attraction" parks and I have yet to see any employees take steps like these to ensure that the magic is kept alive in the hearts of those who care enough to embrace it....kudos to those who look at it as more than a 9-5 gig!!!!

The same as all of you, I have so many special moments but some of the most special revolve around my wedding.
My DH & I were married in the wedding pavilion in 2002. On the way to the GF for photos before the ceremony, the limo broke down! Before I even had time to panic, two town cars swooped in and whisked the wedding party over for photos. By the time the ceremony was over - there was the limo sitting out front all fixed & ready to go!
The very next day I had another special moment. We stayed in the GF on our wedding night and I was on my way down to catch the boat over to the Polly for a thank you breakfast we hosted and while I was in the elevator (wearing my bride ears of course!) the doors opened and in stepped Minnie, and Pluto - with out their helpers, so it was just the 3 of us the whole ride down! They made such a big deal, hugging me & looking at my ring! I felt so special! It is something I will always remember.

It was our first year requesting a courtyard view at the WL and a CM was taking us and our luggage to our room. When we opened the door, entered the room and saw the view was not of the courtyard but a stone wall on the first floor, the CM immediately could tell we were disappointed and said "Hmmm....why don't we check and see if the Honeymoon suite might be available." She called the desk from our room, found out it was available and promptly moved us. It was the highlight of our vacation and something we still talk about today.

This happened several years ago and unfortunately I can't remember the CM's name. I did at the time tho. Anyway, we were waiting outside to get into FotLK. It was so hot, and our daughter was getting a little antsy. Well my husband was going to get some ice cream for us and we asked the CM in the little booth there if she would like some. She was really surprised that we offered to get her some. So as we were still waiting this other CM approached us and told us we needed to come with him. I was nervous because I thought maybe we had done something wrong. He took us in the back door of FotLK and sat us right in the front!! My daughter was soooo excited (as were we:D) he then explained to us that the CM out front called him and made sure we got a front row seat. She then came over to us and asked if we were having fun. We thanked her tons and she thanked us for being so kind to have offered to get her some ice cream. Our daughter also got to dance around with the performers and some other kids. BTW.........she said she wasn't allowed ice cream in her booth. She was a super nice lady.

"""dw and i took or dd to bibbit bop(sp)""

I don't mean to pick on you, but I had to laugh after reading that. ;)
Why not abbreviate it further, such as d a i t o d t b b.
See, no sense in actually typing out words anymore.

We were in MK last year one night of MNSSHP. We did not have tickets to the event and were heading out from the back of the park at normal closing hours. We had a large group that included my then DS-4 and DD-2. My son had one of those dollar store light sticks that he carried all night and would not put down. As we crossed through Adventureland and past the Crystal Palace, some of the group decided to use the restrooms. As we waited near Casey's for them to proceed to the exit my son starts to break down and cry. Not a regular cry, but a panicked emotion thing. We could not understand what could have happened and he would not tell us anything. Well, a managerial CM walking by with one of those trash grabber sticks heard the commotion and stopped to talk to us. My son opened up to her and told her that he lost his light stick back on the Adventureland bridge. Now, we were not allowed back there again because they were clearing the park for MNSSHP and we were not staying. This awesome CM took my wife and my son back to look for his little light stick. Well, this took a considerable amount of time and they did not return soon. I was holding all of the bags in the stroller and could not even call my wife because her phone was in the bags. After about 20 minutes, the rest of us were getting a little worried. After all was said and done, we understood why it took so long. This awesome CM and my son could not find the little light stick, but she walked him to Main Street, with my wife, and let him pick out any one of those spinner lights from a vendor cart. When they returned to the rest of us, I explained to her that he did not loose one of those, but just a dollar store trinket and she said that she could not have a little boy leaving the Happiest Place on Earth crying like he was. The smile on his face was amazing and a year later he still plays with the spinner toy all the time. This CM really went out of her way for my son and made our night.

Last year, after my grandmother passed, my mom and I decided we needed a break from it all, so we booked a stay at the contemporary and got bumped up to club level! That trip ended up being the most magical time at Disney I have ever spent :)
I think my mom had noticed something in passing when she was booking the stay (it's not often that people from Orlando go and stay at Disney) and they made that trip amazing for the both of us.

We have had lots of good CM experiences :) but ill name a few.
1. Once during a parade, Baloo came and danced with me..amazing.
2. The security guard (s) that call me a princess.
3. Last trip we took, my best friend left the boys to get some more sleep in the AM so we did a girls day at MK and we were stopped by a Photopass phtographer and asked if he could take our pic, of course we said yes..mind you this was in front of the castle :) He then proceeded to ask us if we were best friends, we replied yes and then he said make sure you are here at 9 pm tonight for Magic, Memories and You and we were featured in a part of that show!
4. All the buttons (Birthday, anniversary, 1st trip, Im celebrating) I love the cast members that actually congradulate you on what your celebrating- I know I always did when I worked at Epcot ;)
5. And, just this weekend staying at ASM resort, the conceirge said, "can I have your autograph princess" and im 23. Love it.

There are so many others but those are just a few. Sometimes we get somewhat nasty attitudes from cast members at least one every other trip BUT, the ones who do go above and beyond for you with the little or big things that they do make up for any of the bad apples.

I have posted this before and even had it's own thread.
I had planned a trip to WDW in October 2011 to celebrate my 40th birthday. I was excited to go as Disney was celebrating the MK 40th anniversary. Being I was born on 10/5 I thought it was kind of cool that I would be able to get a few little things with the 40th logo on them and the 1971 date.
We booked Coronado Springs for the week as we had visited a few friends that were staying there and it looked refreshed and like a relaxing Mod I really wanted to stay at the Poly but did not want to spend a lot of money on the room.
The day we left for our stay we were running late normal the 90 minute drive to WDW from my home took almost 3 hours with several follies along the way like forgetting the camera, and diapers for the little guy. The whole way to the resort my wife was texting someone which I dismissed as work or a friend.
When I arrived at the guard booth for Coronado I was informed we were late and no one else was going to be checking in that night and to pull up in front of the registration building. When I got to the building there was a red carpet rolled out with CMs standing on either side. I did not think anything of this and saw my wife laughing. I got out of the car and they all stated singing Happy Birthday and brought me a bouquet of balloons. I was promptly greeted by the resort’s GM and photographers. I was then asked to follow them to register. I started to walk into the lobby as was told VIPs do not check in at the main desk. I was brought through a side door into a small lounge and offered a drink and asked to sign my check in along with some waivers for the photos. I Turns out my wife was texting the GM of Coronado Springs on our way to the resort so they could be ready when I arrived.
I was then told that there were some surprises for me over the next few days and was handed the first. It was an envelope containing 6 Fast Passes to be used on any ride I wished at the Magic Kingdom the following day.
I was then led back out into the main lobby where they began taking my picture at several of the landmarks of the hotel and then they had my wife and kids join me.
The GM asked if she could lead us to our room and she remarked that we would like it because it was near the main building. The photographers from the resort and WDW followed us snapping pictures. When we came to the room I turned to my wife and said I bet Mickey was inside that is why the cameras and the Manager came along. Well no Mickey…. When she opened the door it was dark and looked like we were being led into a hall way leading us to another area. The lights were turned on and it was a foyer to a large room filled with balloons and gifts for me, my kids and wife. The room was a 2 bedroom 3 bath suite. Complete with a dinning room, bar, living room and a Jacuzzi in the master bath. I had received several things with the WDW 40th anniversary logo on it from the resort from pins, to baseball caps and even Duffy Bears for the kids. Waiting for each was a picture from our favorite character. Being the Birthday Boy mine was that of the Fab Five. In addition was a great gift tray with party hats made of chocolate and other treats plus my very own Mickey given to me by the WDW. I also received a Birthday card from Mr. Holmes.
Along with all this we were given VIP seating for the MNSSHP Parade and was told more was to come. Then I was asked so do you still want to stay at the Polynesian??? I laughed and said no Coronado Springs is now my favorite resort.

The next day we received a note saying to be ready for text messages to come during the day that would guide us on where to go. Having the special FPs I could not imagine what was up. We received the first text saying to go to Town Hall. There we met with someone from entertainment and were lead across Main Street and through a back door. Waiting for us were Mickey and Minnie. I was offered a Birthday Cake hat which I proudly wore the rest of the day. My kids got a private audience with Mickey and Minnie for a good 15 – 20 minutes which really made my day knowing how much my kids love them.
After meeting Mickey and Minnie we decided to hit some rides not one CM would take my fast passes from me saying. It’s your magical day I’m not taking it! So we were able to make our way through quickly and have a few passes left. Which I saved for the MNNSHP the next night and for Toy Story Mania at HWS.
I received the next text the instructions were to go to the Astro Orbiter and ask for the manager he is expecting us. When I got there I was told we have been waiting for you as Disney understands this is the only ride you have never been on in all of your trips to MK. Well being I have a fear of heights... yes it was. Well only turning 40 once we made the trek up the elevator and on the ride where a PA announcement was made that this weeks marks the 40th anniversary of WDW and we have a special guest with us today who is also turning 40. Everyone clapped cheered and started singing. Needless to say my face turned red.
We had left the park after this to prepare for dinner at Fulton Crab House…one of my favorite places and Disney. I was presented with a beautiful Chocolate cake there. When we returned back to our room there was another huge cake waiting in the room from WDW. Unbelievable!
I asked my wife how much this all cost her and was told nothing. Disney was doing this all on there own! She then had told me she had sent a letter about our upcoming trip and how I was excited to be turning 40 the same week WDW and how I love Disney history. She had shared the email with me and it made me cry. She not only wrote this but a letter that reminded me what a lucky person I truly am. My wife went on about how I am a great dad that is very selfless and giving to others. She knew about the FPs and MNSSHP but had no clue about all the rest.
This was a truly magical trip and I was spoiled beyond belief. I still cannot get over the extent they went through just to give me a real Magical moment (well week really.) Thank you again to all the CMs at the Parks and the Staff of Coronado Springs and of course my wife!

This CM didnt directly interact with me, but on my first day of my first (and probably only) solo trip to WDW, i grabbed some breakfast at Main Street Bakery and I was feeling a little odd, being there all by myself, to be honest. As I was walking out, by the door, all by herself was a 50 or 60-something CM dancing up a storm and singing as a parade rolled by. She was all alone but she was having a blast! It just put a huge smile on my face and reminded me why i was there!!!

I just thought of another one, too! My sister and I were eating at Kona Cafe for breakfast, on the last day of our trip. And she had been a little peeved at me because we had gone to Uni the day before and the whole time I was ranting and raving about how superior Disney is haha. Well, we ordered and she is allergic to nuts - she mentioned it to the CM and he was like, no problem! We've never really had a problem at any restaurants anywhere, since they always take extra care when you say you are allergic to nuts! But in this case - the CHEF came out and brought my sister her meal, and explained he made it just for her, and made sure there were no nuts, and hoped she would enjoy it. she was SHOCKED and couldnt stop going on about how NICE and thoughtful that was!!! I think thats when she realized I was right about the superior thing... haha ;)

We were at kona cafe, my 2 year old son had a juice with a light up buzz on the straw....he loved loved loved it. We were walking around the polynesian after dinner, and looking over the railing he dropped the buzz down into the fountain....he started crying this miserable little cry....i walked into the gift shop where my in-laws and wife were shopping, they asked what was wrong and i told them, a CM working in the gift shop over heard me, and Usain Bolt SPRINTED across the polynesian into the kitchen at kona, and ran back with a flashing buzz. My son lit up like I can't explain, he was soooo happy....i wanted to hug the CM she was fantastic, so nice, and something so little from years ago, I will never forget.

It was and I am. I went back to CSR for Memorial Day weekend and the GSM happened to be working and she thanked me for the experience as it was the first time she was a part of a magical moment on that scale. I just stopped by to say hi and thanks again for the way she and the staff treated me they trult embodied what Disney Magic is all about. Needless to say we are possibly taking a weekend trip for labor day weekend and I will most likely stay at CSR.

I have had many CMs go above and beyone over the years. One incident just indicate how perceptive they can be.

It was during the Magical Moments promotion when this happend, so the fact that a CM was available to do this was not the suprise. It was how perceptive he was. We were at EPCOT on the morning of our last day. We did some things,a nd my youngest asked if we could ride Test Track one last time. I said if the line as not too long as we had to head out shortly. We went over and looked and the line was 40 minutes or so - way to long, so we turned away. Now my daughter did not pitch a fit, she did not cry, at the very most she may have frowned for 5 seconds. A CM came up and asked why we were not riding. We didn't even explain that it was our last day, or that we had to get back to the resort to get the DME. All we said was "the line is too long and we have to go in 30 minutes". He said "Would you ride if you had a fast pass?" At this point I thought he was going to give us some fast passes, but instead he says "Well, I am your fast pass". We went through the fast pass lane, and at every CM we saw he made sure to announce "It's OK, they are with ME!", he then rode Test Track with us, and went on his way.
