Best, cheapest, near DL hotel

Hi all! So I'm planning on doing a trip to Disneyland during September 26th-28th, and wanted to do it on the cheap to save money. I have flights and tickets set up, but was wondering if anyone could recommend a hotel to me? It'll be a solo trip so I'll only need one room, and would prefer for it to be no more than a mile away from the park so I can walk, and under $80. I reserved a room at the Travelodge on South Harbor Blvd since it was the cheapest I could find ($62 a night) despite some bad reviews I've read, but wouldn't mind paying a bit more for a better hotel. Just looking for a place to sleep and shower, so nothing too fancy. Thanks!

Try Priceline bidding. You can routinely score the Hilton or Sheraton or a similar level hotel for under $100/night.

I have stayed at Abby's Anaheimer off of Katella before...it was definitely on the cheap side, but it did offer a small breakfast too. It would probably still be in your price range even though it was a couple of years ago. We would walk up to Grand CA and go through the hotel to DLR. It's not a bad walk, but it sure does seem longer at the end of the day. ;)

If you do this, will you get a hotel within walking distance?

You have to select geographical areas when doing Priceline and they're clearly marked on the map, so if walking distance falls into the geographical area you bid on, then you're set. Presumably all of convention center hotels are within walking distance for most people.

Quality Inn & Suites on W. Katella Ave. is a favorite of mine.
Inexpensive, but not a 'dump', with clean rooms and a friendly staff.
Full free breakfast each morning included with your stay.
I have stayed there several times now and have not paid more then $89 a night. Cheapest i paid was about $69 a few years ago.
There rates reflect the seasons, so you will see higher rates in the peak Summer and Holiday seasons ( over $110+ ).

The small hotel is a scenic 10 to 15 minute walk to the front gates of either Park, and about 6 minutes to DTD.
It is in a area that is close to the Parks and the action around it, but just far enough away to avoid the busy, dizzy 'touristy' scene on Harbor Blvd.
The walk is also safe at night and i have never had any issues even walking back on my own in the wee hours of the night.

There are several decent restaurants in the immediate area and you can see 'California Screamin' and the Fun Wheel standing in front of the hotel.
I recommend it for those who want a reasonable place to stay that provides all the real essentials - bed, shower, breakfast - at a fair price for the close location.

:)
