You're definitely paying for the atmosphere at Sci-Fi. That said-even that can only go so far. The reel they have playing on the screen is very short, and you'll watch the entire thing 2 1/2 times in the time spent there. Surely Disney can add to the reel with trailers from the era, most of which are in the public domain.
I've heard that the milkshakes there really are something special, but for some reason heavy dairy and the Florida sun never really seemed like an appetizing combination to me.
That's why I'm not a big fan of Sci-Fi Diner: the loop's too short, you're looking at the back of your dining companions' heads, it's very dim, and the food isn't fantastic. The milkshakes are OK, but not terrific -- if you want a milkshake, go to 50s Prime Time.
