Perhaps when the Zootopia 3d film comes out at AK..Maybe this is a way to revitalize The Magic Eye theater for Epcot to see if 4D film attractions still work in the theme parks..

4D attractions still work.

Philharmagic and Muppets tend to do very well these days... And they're pretty old. I also think that it really depends on location. I have always believed that ITTBAB died off fast because the attraction's entrance is so hard to find for newbies.

Also, theaters like the Magic Eye and ITTBAB are not in a prime location surrounded by other attractions. 4D attractions are great entertainment for waiting around on your next Express Pass, or a break between a bunch of fast-paced attractions. Muppets is close to ROTR now, so I believe that is why the attendance has gone up. Convenient way to pass the time waiting on your callback time/express pass while still being entertained.

Philharmagic has Seven Dwarves, Peter Pan, Small World, Pooh, Little Mermaid, Haunted Mansion, and a whole lot of other stuff around it to justify going to see the 4D film for a 10th time on your 10th trip as you wait for your next experience.

ITTBAB and Magic Eye though? There is quite literally nothing around them without having to walk forever to the next destination. They are very much out of the way from everything else. Nobody needed to watch Captain EO or HISTA to wait to get on Imagination. So its usage on repeat visitors seems useless. Same with Bugs.

Awesome Planet is a non-4d film and has a comedically oversized theater on a simple little film about conservation and it sees more people that the short film festival. It's not something I ever really want to do. But I do it every trip. Why? I'm either waiting for lunch or waiting for Soarin' and don't want to walk all the way over to Imagination or Seas.... Impressions de France/BATB Sing Along has gained a huge audience because of its close proximity to Ratatouille.

It's not about whether or not 4D films are right for theme parks or not. They obviously are... But their re-watchability is much less than a moving ride... So it's not likely that people will go out of their way to go watch it again every single trip... Unless the location is convenient when it comes to waiting on other experiences. Then they are happily enjoyed by repeat visitors.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Move Muppets to Magic Eye add Play Pavilionesque Muppet Laps and a Beaker/Bunsen M&G. Put Zootopia at DHS in old MuppetVision bldg as "Zootopia's Got Talent" with AA judges, add a frozen treats Pawsical Stand and a Nick and Judy M&G. Keep "It's Tough to Be a Bug!" in DAK.

I chose Tough to be a Bug because I've always loved Flik.

I used to love HISTA, but a certain commenter on the video's comment section has forever ruined that show for me. (He's obsessed with giantess Diane.)

Captain EO is badarse, and I like the Eeyore parody CMs made of it at Disneyland in the '80s. I have "Another Part of Me" on my regular music rotation.

Muppets is funny. I like Miss Piggy's song, and Waldo is cute.

Magic Journeys is vapourwave aesthetic.

Never seen PhilarMagic, but heard it's good.

Muppets for Disney, but the best 3D/4D show I have ever seen and enjoyed over and over again was The Terminator at Universal and the Shrek show, there also, was good but the preshow was fantastic. All are now gone. I almost forget, Poseidon's Fury show in Islands of Adventure (Universal) was also absolutely stunning. Gone also. It seems that everything worthy of seeing, at either resort, is either gone or on the way out.

FWIW, I'm not a huge fan of the "you sit in the theater and it seems like stuff if touching you" type attractions, so that already provides a handicap to It's Tough to Be a Bug and Honey, I Shrunk the Audience. Of what's left, I really like the combination of 3-D effects and practical effects in Muppets and the humor/jokes still land with me all these years later, so Muppets gets my vote...

That’s why you need an E ticket draw to a pavilion that’s as cohesive as possible with a logical guest flow. Or - dare I say it - a film that’s a draw in itself.

Like it used to be.
Which is why I wish they brought back Honey I Shrunk The Audience. It still fits with the current pavilion cohesiveness and packed in the theater more than the film fest..I couldn't recall a time that theater was empty for that as it was always pretty packed. My favorite part is while you waited during the Kodak pre-show hearing terrifying screams and loud booming noises coming from the theater awaiting your turn..It made it feel more exciting.

O MY, You've started something here LOL, well i can remember honey i shrank being amazing, but a lot of kids ( like tough to be a bug ) had to leave as was scary ( re spiders & snake ) the muppets is my wife's favorite, and i love that also, but i did vote mickeys philarmagic as its nice to see Disney characters in a show, and the updated 4k scan is very good now, Disney get a lot of credit for there visuals , but its the sound in that thing that's amazing , ( piano hitting the floor a proper THX moment for sure ) Captain EO was fun, i simply don't understand why there is no show in that building apart from mickey short movie ( clever as that is ) its no honey or cap EO, Disney are a funny lot, it would cost not that much to update old attractions, esp epcot. but i can hear then saying ''no we need another land added '' :banghead:.

Never a true word has been text, this new lot haven't a clue, they couldn't blue sky the weather ! let along these wonderful parks, to think Marty Sklar pushed Imagineering to the max in epcot, and look at the results they had, all this lot has to do is update and rpl attractions, they cant even do that ! we need young blood at the helm, and bring an imaginer back along with the CEO, joe Rohde is a genius who would know how to get things moving , bring him back out from retirement ( if he would that is ) there must be someone out there who can move projects along. sorry for rant.;)

Could somebody explain to me (who never saw it) what made Terminator 2:3D so good? The Unofficial Guides were calling it the best thing ever for years and years.

Finally going back to WDW this summer, and I’ve realized MuppetVision is one of the things I’m most excited to see. Two years without seeing it is two too many.

“Did somebody say CHEAP 3-D TRIIIIIIIICKS???
Ahh what a line, plus “this show is very moving” to the reply of “ yeah I wish they’d move it to Pittsburg . As a show I think this is one of the best they’ve ever done, it’s a must see every time we go, but like mickeys philamagic, it’s amazing how many people don’t look behind them at the end 😂( if you know what I mean 😉)

The show was very involved both technology wise and entertainment. The actual human participation that blended seamlessly into the 3D movie even to the point of a "stunt cycle" complete with human literally drive right into the screen. also that theater reacts to some of the action and giant animatronics are there as well as really good 3D. It's hard to explain how that all molds together, but, without even thinking about it, feels like you are right there with them.

By the way, this is coming from someone that has never seen an actual Terminator movie.

To me the single best part is

What's all the commotion about?

Bean Bunny ran away!

Well, you know what that makes him...SMARTER THAN US!

Phil and Muppets are tops for certain. I have a hard time choosing between them. I do miss Honey I shrunk the kids though. The Muppets has the best preshow.

Which one has the butt pokes that go along with the show?

That one.

The first time, it woke me right up and formed an immediate WDW core memory.
