I"m from South Carolina and LOVE malt vinegar on my fries. I guess I started eating that at the county fair, where the vendors sold fresh cut fries with malt vinegar on top. Now I usually get them at Long John Silvers, but anywhere I get fries, I'm' always looking for the vinegar. I suppose it isn't really a southern thing, but it's not unheard of either. (Unlike poutine!)
