Random question, just bought my AP last week for my upcoming trip in June. Will activate it in June, I won't qualify for the discount for this tour until I activate my AP right? Or can I get the discount now?

Unless things have changed you pay now and get refunded the discount when you take the tour

I'm preaching to the choir here, but we loved this tour! We took the tour several years ago when prices were still relatively manageable and we were taking a trip every year. This tour was a perfect way to add some spice to our trip! It's been a while but we only released lady bugs and tasted grape tomatoes (along with the gardens tour and everything else). No wasps or cucumbers or anything, so clearly it changes which is always an added bonus!

I personally loved the tour and will probably do it again. My girlfriends major is environmental science so her and the tour guide really hit it off. Overall it was a great experience. For myself being a landscaper it was nice seeing all different methods of agriculture and environmentally friendly ways to take care of pests in customers gardens. I would highly recommend doing it at least once.

We're planning on trying this next month! Does anyone know if it's still easy to just walk up and get in, or should I call and make a reservation? If we can just walk up, does anyone know if we can we charge it to the room with a Magicband, or do I need to bring a CC to the park that day?

I'd book it you never know sometimes it's full and sometimes not.

there's multiple tours through out the day (not sure how many) we weren't sure if we wanted to go on it so we just walked up the desk near Soarin' and luckily the next tour was in 10 minutes and was not full- yet. You can always reserve or worst case scenario just walk up to the desk and ask when the next available tour is.

I think I may be the lone dissenter. I actually have an interest in plants, and I thought the tour was boring. The only real interest for me was the plant you can touch and all of the "leaves" fold away from you. That was pretty cool. That being said, I think it's a great deal for a behind the scenes tour. Walking around on the "set" of Living with the Land was neat. However, I thought all of the actual information was dull and a lot of people had specific questions about their gardens. After the fourth person asked why their tomatoes didn't grow as big, I just started taking pictures of the plants and the boats going through the ride.

I've been on this tour 3 times (over the past 6 years or so). The tour is very pleasant and educational, and I like the fact that it's about an hour; it doesn't take up half the day or longer, like some of the other tours at WDW. It's not expensive either. (Note: if you purchase the Birnbaum's Guide to Walt Disney World, they usually have a coupon in the back of the book, that gives you a discount on this tour. Haven't picked up the 2016 book yet, but all the previous years did include a coupon for this.)

Every time I've wanted to go on the tour, I've just walked up to the desk (near Soarin') and had no difficulty signing up for available tour times that day. Each tour I've taken seemed to have the maximum amount of guests they could accommodate, so the tours do eventually fill up each day.

2016 has the coupon

My daughter and I did this on our trip in Feb. 2016. We had a great cast member named Katie and a nice group of folks. We enjoyed this very much and I learned a lot. My daughter loves educational things so this was right up her ally. We even brought home a dragon fruit plant that was grown in the land greenhouse. I would highly recommend it.
