Bedrails for a toddler

We're headed to Disney in less than two weeks. My 2 year old has recently moved to her "big girl bed" Does anyone know if you can get bedrails at the resorts? We're staying at PO-Riverside.

We stayed at POR this past September. The bedrails are a MUST with those beds when you have a toddler. Chairs in the room are not high enough to do any good. The refurbed rooms' mattresses seem much taller and firmer than they used to be. The bedrails we requested never arrived the first night so we surrounded her with pillows, but she did roll off and bumped the wooden railing around the bed leaving a nasty bruise on her leg. Thank goodness that is all she hurt. We felt so bad that my husband went downstairs to retrieve some bedrails we spotted that someone put outside the housekeeping room. Needless to say, the bedrails were up for the rest of the trip.

Thanks for letting us know. We're going in December, and have one of the trundle beds reserved. My little one rarely sleeps alone, however. We were thinking about putting our 16 year old daughter in the trundle ! ( She is extremely thin, but tall. ) :lookaroun

I know all about the bed rails and pack and plays, but not the trundel beds. What are they like and do all resorts give them out (DVC.) We are staying at BCV in Feburay in a studio and not sure what to do about little PhD. In the past she has always slept in the pack in play (even when she was out of the crib at home.) At VB we got the bed rails and the pack and play and she chose the pack and play every time. This next trip older couisn might come and it will be baby PhD's 1st trip. We will have 5 in the room, but baby PhD doesn't count. This time baby will be in the pack and play. It isn't fair to make couisn share with little phd (who will be almost 4 yeas old) becuase she rolls and moves all over. Maybe the trundle would work for her.

Thanks for the picture Yellow Shoes. That would be perfect for Little PhD since she is still sleeping on a matress on the floor (She roles so much I am leary to but her in a real bed unless it is full size.)

Too bad they are only at POR. That was our favorite resort before we went DVC.

We might just bring a sleeping bag for Little PhD.

This might sound bad, but you just reminded me of something - when my brother was little, he snored very loudly. More than once, my mom was able to put cushions, pillows, sleeping bags, etc. in the bathtub, as a safe makeshift bed. This might not work for you, but it saved our family vacations! My brother never minded, he rarely moves in his sleep. It became a bit of a family in-joke.

Man, I wish I had known about the bedrails. I thought the kids would get a kick out of the trudle bed, and they did for about 10 minutes. After that they wanted to sleep in the beds. We piled all the pillows around them to keep them on the bed, but I had to rescue mine several times before they fell off.

Hey Rosebud's Mom Id suggest switching the arrangement!!! The trundle beds are shorter than a regular bed & May be too short for your older one and your little one may enjoy having a special bed all to herself!!! Belle

DVC will not supply extra beds, even trundles. What you see is what you get.
So, it appears it is the pack and play or rolls and moves. :)

Surprisingly the bedrails the resorts supply you are not cheap knock-offs either. They are a well known brand of baby product. I cannot remember exactly who it was, but they were very well made bedrails.

Are you crazy??? I felt like a mechanic sleeping on that at PO Riverside AKA Dixie. I think it would have been better to sleep on the floor!!! Great for changing the oil in your car but definitely not a good night's sleep. Still feel the pain in my back now.
