Today I recieved a call and a package from DVC. They informed me about the new Animal Kingdom Villas and told me I would recieve a package with information! I got it and did I ever! FedEX came with a heavy package. When I opened it it was a hard cover book with blue and purple clouds with dream on it. Inside are beautiful pictures and information about the DVC and the points system. I am interested in joining and this answered a lot of my questions and a cool DVD I hope to watch, I liked last years' with the Walt Disney Studios Tour! This package also included a booklet of the Animal Kingdom Villas with pictures of the water-park style pool area and pictures of the model. Was a nice suprise! :D

Just thought I'd let you know!

Don't you love getting anything from disney , even if it's junk mail you just have to look at it. Joined DVC in 2000 and haven't regretted it for one minute. The only thing I regret is not getting more points cause we max out and borrow every year. One of these years we'll have to add on .

We became members in 2001 and think it was the best thing we could have done. I love Disney promo matterials. I order the vacation planning DVD every year. We just got the new one last week and it's the best ever. I still have old VHS planners from the 90's. They've come a long way.
Can't wait for the AKL DVC section to open!:sohappy:

I have a small rendering of part of the pool area and the site layout here:

But from those filing plans, it looks like ther will be a large pool with a big slide and several hot tubs. There is also a large bar and another building that I can't make out.

(How can I insert the photos into my post? Can anybody help?)

yeah we got that last year after we sat through the presentation. We actually didn't like the guys that presented it at all...but we got free fast passes and that pretty book too :animwink:

Jeez, I just got my DVC book, and I was impressed with the pop-up style booklet that contained a generic DVD. Sounds like this far surpasses that!

I've got the book and other info too - the book is absolutely beautiful, haven't watched the DVD yet though. Sounds like a good thing, but I'm still a little hesitant.

Just let me ask a question/opinion about DVC. Are there any other single people here that are members and do they think it's worthwhile ?

We attended the DVC presentation last week, did the tour and received the beautiful book and informative DVD. I teach advanced senior high school math and calculus, and upon our return home, I spent hours analyzing the numbers. We decided the DVC is the way to go for us even though we typically stay at value and moderate resorts. When I accounted for inflation, it's still agreat deal in the long run. Everyone I heard from also says that they have never regretted joining. Can't wait...AKL villas here we come. :)

I watched the DVD yesterday, it is pretty much the same as last years except it has new information about the AKL Villas. Also how this all began and all the imagineering explanations to the architectual design!

DVC is calling this area Uwanja Camp water play area at Kidani Village:)

(Anybody notice the water slide under the tiki hut by the waterfall! Looks great. Remember it's only a proposed drawing...:( )

Yes, I really appreciate seeing all the numbers! Helps me know, well I guess its not that bad...:D

We joined in 03 and also have had no regrets. Alot of perks, saves alot of money in the long run, great places to stay without an up front cash out lay. And during tax season it's also added into the return. Well, I lied, we do have a regret.......... that we didn't join sooner. Next trip in 21 days, already making a list of what to bring. Starting to shake with anticipation. :sohappy: :D :sohappy: :D
