We joined in 03 and also have had no regrets. Alot of perks, saves alot of money in the long run, great places to stay without an up front cash out lay. And during tax season it's also added into the return. Well, I lied, we do have a regret.......... that we didn't join sooner. Next trip in 21 days, already making a list of what to bring. Starting to shake with anticipation. :sohappy: :D :sohappy: :D
I expect this thread to soon be moved to the DVC section since it has evolved in that direction, but in the meantime:

I'm happy to hear about you not having regrets. Every person I've spoken to about DVC has said that they have no regrets either, and only wish they had done it earlier. As I stated in a prevoius post in this thread, I did lots and lots of math to compare the cost (even if I never use my points to go anywhere except WDW) of DVC versus our annual stays at POP or a moderate. Financially, it makes sense long term, and it will allow us to stay in deluxe accomodations in future. I've always loved the values, but I'm looking forward to villa accomodations. I'm happy that they decided to go ahead with AKL villas. I'm going to have to start perusing the DVC threads now.:)

So they are giving out a hardcover book just to promote the DVC? Did you just order this off of their website?

My wife and I just joined the DVC about 2 months ago and we have 2 of those books. We got one when we went for the initial presentatoin at Saratoga Springs last April and then they sent us another one in the mail just a few weeks after that. I am very interested in getting my hands on that Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas booklet. Any DVC members here know if it is being sent out to us in the mail?

How did you get the book, did you sign up to receive the DVD on the website? I tried ordering the DVD and it said they won't send it to my "jurisdiction" (new jersey?) So, I sent it to a friend in PA, but it still hasn't arrived there yet. I'm really interested in DVC, and I can't believe they won't send me any info! The book would be great, but so would the DVD, heck anything with the "numbers" would be fine.

I did get something in the mail about the AKLV, but not the booklet that is sent to prospective members. I'm going to call Bernard and see if he can send me one.

I sent in a referral for one of my employees and he got the hard cover book. When he called asking about the AKL Villas they sent him another hard cover book with the AKLV insert. I would guess the next printing of the book will have the AKLV included. Can't imagine what DVC's FedEx bill is.

I have a small rendering of part of the pool area and the site layout here:
http://dizfanatic.com/dvc_at_ak.aspx
But from those filing plans, it looks like ther will be a large pool with a big slide and several hot tubs. There is also a large bar and another building that I can't make out.

(How can I insert the photos into my post? Can anybody help?)

I would guess the building with the ???? next to the rest rooms is the guest laundry.
