Are there any other exterior details that will be added to the castle? Seams around the moulding on the castle turrets, paint, etc? From the looks of the model, it looks like the castle is going to stay gray.
Because they had no idea B&tB would be a hit.
We tend to romanticize that period, but that castle was designed long before they knew B&tB would survive very long. The only real hit Disney had was with TLM, and for all they knew it was a one-off. TLM was in '89, and B&tB was in '91 - in between was Rescuers Down Under.
Wow! I thought it would have been WAY larger. I knew that it couldn't topple Cinderella's, since she is the main show, but still.... I am not sure if I like how tiny it is either!
I've seen it plenty since it went up, and it looks just fine with forced perspective.Wow. I'm not sure I like how tiny it is.
T Cars 2 was the definition of a clunker.
That seems like a silly and moot point now. They're spending $700m alone on Cars Land in DCA and Cars 2 was the definition of a clunker.
In hindsight, it would have been nice to put a different princess castle in each of the parks around the world. But that's a Monday morning QB mentality and it doesn't work that way at WDI.
No... Mars needs Moms was the definition of a clunker. Cars 2 Under performer in the Domestic Box office by at most $40 million. However it allowed them to keep the franchise relevant to an older audience that doesn't watch the Carstoons (which is really what's currently "driving" that franchise).
Carsland should be a success for the same reason that Cars has been a success, and that's merchandise. If DCA sees a significant boost in merchandise sales in Carsland, you can certainly expect to seem derivation of it in Disney World.
