Beach Club vs Monorail Resorts

So with the newly announced spring discount, my family and I will finally have the chance to stay in a deluxe resort! But I'm completely torn because of my love for MK and the monorail resorts (especially the GF) and my love for the Beach Club (especially Beaches and Cream :p ). It will be a short weekend trip in early June and we will be going on the Keys to the Kingdom tour (the whole reason for going on this trip!). The park depend on where we stay...
• 4 nights: MK first night, DHS and EPCOT second day, and MK on our last full day.

• 3 nights: EPCOT first night and MK our last full day.

We could stay 4 nights at the Beach Club for around $1300 and 2 nights at the GF not much cheaper than that! The contemporary is $1200 for three nights not even in the tower, but we could WALK to MK  The Poly is actually the cheapest monorail resort, but I don't know if I want to deal with the construction.

We had a trip like 2 weeks ago, so I guess going to the other parks (especially DHS and AK) wouldn't be a big deal...but I want to have enough time in MK! Therefore if we stay 4 nights I would have a night done in MK already and we could book a later tour (after park opening) and watch the beloved rope drop show which I didn't get to watch over Christmas because there were EMH every morning and we stayed offsite!

So what would you do? Monorail resort for convenience or Beach Club for a somewhat longer stay and more park time? It won't be the last time I stay in a deluxe resort unless I absolutely hate it, but it could be a once-in-a-lifetime trip for my grandparents. My grandma actually has saved up $400 by simply putting $1.50 in a jar every time she doesn't drink pop when she goes out to eat! :p

I also priced Riverside with tickets and a dining plan for 4 nights and it came up to about $1800! So help me please :joyfull:

It seems MK is super important to you - so the monorail resort seems like the way to go.

I personally LOVE being able to walk to Epcot and DHS from Beach Club. But that's my personal preference.

So if MK is the most important part of your trip - then monorail resort it is! Being a walk or short monorail ride away from MK can really help maximize time in MK.

Have fun!

That was actually kind of easy...I told my grandma the only way she could make up for not buying me a ticket to Disney on Ice in a couple weeks was to stay at the Grand Floridian...and she replied with "one night". Sweetness! I'm pretty sure I can convince for a couple more nights...even if I have to pay for it out of my own pocket!

Always stay at the resort that makes you the most happy, but try and squeeze in a night or two at BC at some point in your Disney visits. Strolling to EPCOT with a nice coffee is one of our favorite things in the morning. and if your like me and you get hungry after 10 pm there is good food at ESPN Zone until midnight or later. (their pork nachos are awesome!) Sitting on the Boardwalk any time of day is very relaxing and there is always a little night life action at the bars and restaurants. Enjoy your trip!

I'd go with BC you get a whole extra day in WDW! Sure monorail loop is more convenient but that extra hour you spend on a bus gets you a whole extra day!!! You can always wake up walk through Epcot maybe catch a ride or two while the lines are short and then monorail over to MK

:jawdrop: Can I adopt your grandma for a day? I want to stay at the GF too. :)

I've been thinking about these kinds of things as well as I plan my June trip. If I'm spending "Deluxe" money and plan on visiting the MK multiple times, then I'd suggest the monorail for convenience.

If you were there for Food & Wine fest I'd say BC all day long. If not, then GF isn't a bad way to go. It's nice taking the monorail there and the boat back.

Look at it this way, no matter the choice - you win. Both are really nice resorts, you'll be fine. That said, I love the food at BC a bit better and enjoy the ability to have the quick walk to the World Showcase
