Beach Club Transportation

Hi everyone! We are leaving for the World in TEN DAYS :) and I've been thinking about how exactly we are going to get everywhere.
We have park hoppers so I was thinking maybe we might go through Epcot to the monorail to get to Magic Kingdom? We have a double buggy and don't mind walking at all, but was just wondering how that actually plays out? Is it easier to just take the bus from Beach Club? Just trying to figure out the logistics of getting around using Disney transportation. Also we have several ADR's at other resorts (Ohana for dinner, breakfast and dinner at the Grand Floridian, Boma and Sanaa at AKL, Chef Mickeys). Is it worth it to take a cab to any of these?
I appreciate any advice. We have never stayed onsite.

I like to do as you suggest. To get to MK from Beach Club, go through Epcot and take the monorail. It is a very nice walk, especially early when World Showcase is mostly empty.

Some of the bus routes can be lengthy, and if times is of importance, I would go with the cab option. If time is not a problem, go with the Disney busses.

Have a great trip!

Walking through Epcot to get to the monorail takes me about 30 minutes and I don't have kids or a stroller. It will be along walk, but a nice one! The hard part is not stopping to ride stuff in epcot. :)

I like to take cabs whenever I go from resort to resort. It saves a lot of time.
I usually take a cab from BC to Contemporary in the mornings and then walk to MK from there.

I disagree with walking thru Epcot to catch the monorail, especially first thing in the morning. Yacht and Beach share a MK bus, and Yacht is picked up first, so the bus would go directly to MK after Beach Club.

If you walk from BC to Epcot, you must go through the security check point, then use your MagicBands to enter the park, walk through some of World Showcase and all of Future World, exit Epcot, climb the monorail ramp and wait on the monorail.

The monorail will only take you to the TTC, where you will have to board yet another monorail or take the ferry to the MK.

The bus will drop you off at the MK entrance. Seems easiest (and way less walking!) to me. We always take the bus to MK when staying at Beach Club.

I'd just take the bus, but the monorail is a good option, especially between MK and EPCOT. I guess I'd take the bus to AK and then hop an a resort bus to AKL. I have never done taxis before, but some folks think they're an option. I'd just rely on Disney transportation if I could. It's free.:D Enjoy your 1st stay onsite! Great choice! Do use the walkways, if you're not too tired. The boats are so wonderful to and from DHS and EPCOT.:D

I will suggest taking a cab back to BC after any dinners at other resorts if your dinner is ending near park closing. Since there are no resort to resort buses you have to take a bus to one of the parks or DTD and then to BC. We (5 of us) took a cab from CR (dinner at Chief Mickey's) back to BC in January and it was $25 with tip. To avoid the crowded MK buses and the extra time it would take, that was the best $25 I spent all week - well except the tequila flight at La Cava. :)

I agree with @Tuvalu..... I would take the bus to the MK from the BC. If you are not is a hurry, you can walk though Epcot and Future World, walk up the ramp to the monorail to the TTC. Once there, you need to walk down the ramp and up the ramp at the TCC to the MK monorail. A certain times of the day, if I remember correctly, this trip can be very crowded because all of the day visitors and driving visitors use it. You might find that the resort monorail (TTC, Poly, GF, MK, CR) is less crowded. Taking the boat is also a nice option but can be very crowded since it also services day visitors.
Enjoy your stay...but be warned.....once you stay onsite, it is very difficult to go back to staying off site. :cat:

From my experience, if you are trying to make it on time to an ADR at another resort from an EPCOT resort (and even after waiting at one of the EPCOT resorts for a bus for an hour)...take a taxi..from the Boardwalk to the Grand it was only $18. Buses can be a pain coming from the EPCOT resorts.

Also isn't the monorail down for maint in the middle of the day for a while? The resort monorail.

Yes. Only the Epcot monorail is open all day. The other two (I believe the resort line and the express line) will be closed from 11am - 7pm while we are there.

From BC walking into EPCOT thru the International Gateway is quick but for a quick trip to MK do the bus not the monorail. If you are park hopping starting at EPCOT or MK then going to the other then sure use the monorail.

If you're going to Epcot or MGM, take the leather-foot express and enjoy the walk. It's no time at all to Epcot & the walk to MGM really isn't that bad. It's peaceful and generally not all that crowded. You can snag the water taxi; however, I've found it doesn't save you any time if you are a fast walker by default.

Animal Kingdom, take the bus. It's generally not that bad.

Magic Kingdom. You have a few options:
1. Taxi (to the Contemporary) and walk the rest of the way
2. Walk through Epcot to Monorail
3. Drive to the Contemporary (if you have a car) and walk the rest of the way
4. Bus.

If you need to be there for something and time is not on your side, you take the Taxi to contemporary. Go to the lobby, make an immediate left and walk down the path to the park.

We stayed at BC with smaller children (Ages 6 and 4). Some days we took the bus from the resort to Magic Kingdom and ever had too long of a wait. Other days we enjoyed the stroll thru EPCOT. Since we typically travel at quieter times of year, we were able to hop on some rides in EPCOT on our way thru the park. In my opinion it just depends on how much of a rush you are in to get to MK. We also enjoyed the walk back in the evening from DHS vs waiting in the long lines after closing for the buses or boats.

With strollers, kids etc., I highly recommend taking the Bus from Beach Club to MK. The transfer of Monorails from EPCOT to MK is very long, especially when you are excited to get to the parks. Not to mention the multiple ramps you need to walk with your family. The bus is the perfect option.

I like to be at the parks when they open so I would suggest to take the bus. From the BC you will I believe stop @ the BW and then head straight to MK. Once you are on the bus you should be unloading at MK in 10 minutes.

Remember that if you take the monorail you will have to walk to the front of Epcot to get tot he monorail station. From there you will have to transfer @ the TTC to another monorail of take the ferry to get to the MK. This could take you 30 minutes and most likely more.

I would say try to take the monorail route for your trip back to the resort one afternoon to get the feel of what it takes.

My 2 cents having just returned:

To MK: Take the bus. We never waited more than 20 minutes for a bus (if we saw it driving away as we approached the bus stop) and it goes to MK straight from there, about 10-15 minutes. On the way back it goes to Yacht first but it only adds about 5 minutes to stop.

To AK: Bus

To DHS: Boat or walk. There is no bus unless the boats are not running.

To EPCOT: Walk. It's 5 minutes and you enter just between Paris and UK.

Don't forget to explore the Boardwalk at night - it's a lot of fun!
