If you haven't seen the video of the Dancing With the Stars folks, here it is:



My question is why, oh why, wouldn't they dance to Beauty and the Beast?! I mean, hello!!! It's a dance between Belle and Beast (and other people) in Beast's ballroom. I was really excited when I saw this video, but the song ruined it for me. Does this bother anyone else?

Totally agree! The song is intimately tied to the scene, to the ballroom. One of the most tender, loving, most 'Disney' of all Disney movie moments. So iconic. I must confess I find the scene a wee little bit moving too. :oops:

What's the point without the music? :confused:

This is akin to setting Ariel on a rock, gazing longingly at the shore, and bursting out in Lady Gaga's 'Pokerface'.

Exactly! I think my face immediately dropped when I heard the music. It was actually a little awkward watching them dance to that.

Confession: Now I kind of want to see Ariel sing Lady Gaga... :oops:

At one point, the girl who wasn't Belle kept tipping he r head so much that I wondered if she was also one of the ghosts from the Boo To You parade, lol.

I didn't mind the music at all.

It looks like they just threw some music over the dance, the counts to the music and the footsteps don't really match all that well and there is no ambient noise. It also looks like they just ADRed some clapping, extra weird. I'm hoping the music ties in somewhere, I'd be totally cool if that is what is played in the background at the actual restaurant you know? Either way it's cool to see Belle and the Beast dance.

Some things aren't meant to be reproduced from cartoons...and some things should never be mixed together. Lol

stupid. Are they pushing this ballroom to be available eventually as a wedding reception hall? Becasue that is what it looks like..a cheap local ad for a reception hall.

When i watched the video earlier today, my impression was that this might create a bit of anticipation in potential Guests for something that is NOT at Be Our Guest - Live Characters dancing in the ballroom during the meals! I can easily see some people looking at this video and just assuming this is what they will see when they dine there.

It then made me think of how cool this WOULD be if indeed such a thing was part of the Entertainment roster...and be added...ala the belly dancer and musicians at Marrakesh.

Then i came to my senses and realized it would probably be difficult to pull off without becoming a M & G, not to mention all the reduced seating due to the clearing of the floor.

I've been saying since this was announced that my wedding will be in there. I figure by the time I decide to get married the buzz will have died down and it'll happen. I also think ill win the lotto and be able to pay for it so who knows.

I can see that. I thought it looked like a perfect wedding reception hall (especially the ballroom)the first time I viewed the video, and wondered if they would make it available for weddings. So many women would pay anything to be married in the MK!
