Be Our Guest as character dining?

I've heard BOG will be a glorifed Chuck E. Cheese. I sure hope not.

And if they did consider it a character meal, would they only have Beast? I would think they would need more characters at the location for a real character meal.

Chuck E Cheese would be hoping for the best. I'm expecting Wile E Weasels

Am I wrong?

I thought the Beast's human name was "Adam".

Excuse me, Adam.

And I have absolutely no interest in eating at this place if it's going to be a loud, screaming mess that in any way resembles a Chuck E. Cheese. Must every dining experience involve characters and some kind of show? Are peoples' attention spans so low now that they can't just enjoy a nice meal in a well-themed restaurant without having a "show" to entertain them? There are plenty of other dinner shows on property if you require entertainment with your meal (and I have nothing against them-HDDR is one of my favorite things to do-I just don't think they belong at EVERY meal).

However, this "show" doesn't surprise me in the least, since it's just Disney continuing to cater almost excusively to the stroller crowd, which seems to be the only demographic they care about these days.

IMO...I think people prefer the Beast to Prince Adam, Andrew, Allan or whatever, Much like why doesn't Rapunzel appear with short brown hair. Not what folks want to see.

I think it would be a failing if this was not a character meal. Even if it was as simple as meeting Belle and the Beast prior to dinner for a photo op (a la Cinderella's Royal Table or Norway). They would welcome you to the castle and then you would have your dinner. They don't need to have other characters then roaming. The only characters that would make sense to roam would be other princesses (like they do at Cinderella's Royal Table) and i don't think they need another "princess" meal, especially so close to Cinderella's Royal Table. The only way they do another "princess" meal is to end the run in Norway (which I don't see happening, because two in one park makes no sense and have the meal in Norway draws families to EPCOT). The only other way I see them having another "princess" meal is if they use different princess (ie the non-traditional ones you see at Norway or the Royal Table) They could have Mulan, Rapunzel, Tiana, etc. This would make it a different experience than the other two. That they may consider as the 'Princess" meals are big sellers, but the key is it needs to be DIFFERENT.

I will say that I'll give Be Our Guest a try. Maybe things have changed from the last I heard???? Who knows??? I will give it a shot and see how it is. Hopefully, it will excede everyone's expectations.

I also did some checking and it sounds like the food will be better than what I had heard originally. Again, these are all rumors. Time will tell.

My family will be trying it as well. It looks like it will be beautiful and it is something new and different. I am just surprised if you can't meet Belle and the Beast. The concept artwork put out by Disney suggested that the Beast would be there. He would be almost greeting you as you went to your table. Kind of how I had suggested in my earlier post. You can also se Lumiere in the picture on the rolling cart (assumed to be like Remy in France - EPCOT).

Let's hope something changes to what it sounds like ouor the current plans, but either way we will be trying it out.

This is a little off topic but I remember last year I saw his name confirmed as Prince Adam. It was used on something directly from Disney. It was the first time I had seen the name Prince Adam used anywhere official. Only... I can't remember where I saw it. A doll box, or DVD materials, or something? Someone please help me out.

From Wikipedia:

While his true name is never mentioned in the media franchise, it has been confirmed by the CD-ROM tie-in game The D Show that his real name is Prince Adam.

Oh is this one of those topics where someone makes a valid complaint about Disney and is immediately pegged as a harlot looking for nothing but a military coop of WDW?

Honestly, I'm really surprised how aggressively some people out there love to malign Disney. With "fans" like these, the Mouse doesn't need enemies.

Yep.

Thank you lebeau. I was thinking it had appeared somewhere else besides that game, and after almost an hour of googling I finally found it. It was driving me bonkers trying to remember.

"Prince Adam" is written under a silhouette in the Royal Guest Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside. This video is what I saw:

He/she is becoming the record holder for meandering ponderous posts rather quickly. It took less than a month to whip out the "America, love it or leave it" gag.

Nothing like derailing a good thread. We are on this forum because we LOVE Disney and we LOVE talking about it. If it were perfect and everything they did was always perfect then there would be little to discuss. Also the fact is what is perfect to me may be be a complete fail in the eyes of someone else. That is what makes Disney great. It is something different, yet great, in its own unique way to each person. It is the conversations and differences of opinions is what is so fun about the forum. People can't get so bent out of shape when someone says something negative or different from their opinion.

I now digress and ask that we get back to the topic of Be Our Guest Restaurant, which is why each of us clicked on this thread... So meanwhile, back to our show;)
