Be aware of your surroundings when at the parks.

The "magic" of Disney can certainly create a false sense of security. It's unfortunate, but there are bad people wherever you go. Just be aware of your surrounding and your belongings and you should be alright.

The "Wallet in the back pocket" caused my right hip to be an inch higher than my left hip (Chiropractor is fixing that now). He tells me it's such a common problem in men. Your body adjusts to it so you can't even feel it in your pocket anymore. BAD IDEA.

That's why I now always put it in the front pocket.

Did your wallet look like this?

That's sad but something we have to remember, they have bad people everywhere. I always have my wallet in my back pocket but I make sure my pockets have button and I use them. Cash always goes in a money clip in my front pocket but I still have my room card, ID and other things in my wallet that I like to have on me.

Eh, if they do, great. If they don't, I'll still wear it. It's the perfect thing to carry in the parks. Hands free. Zippers in the front. Fits tickets, money, phone, room keys, safe key. Only thing I dislike about it is having to go through bag check in the morning. But it's a small price to pay for peace of mind. Knock on wood, in all my trips to WDW, I've never lost a thing while wearing that pack.

I wear one too (we call them bum bags) and have my t-shirt loosely over it so no chance of anyone swiping it off me and running away with it.

I tie it through the loops of my shorts. If anyone tries to steal it, they'll have to deal with seeing me without my shorts on. Let the punishment fit the crime.:king:

They do a great job of that, the bag check is a great example of this. If someone wants to do something bad, the check wont stop them. Just put whatever bad thing you have in your pocket or under your clothes and walk right in.

I subscribe to the cargo shorts with my key and 1 credit card and a small amount of cash in my front buttoned pocket. If you just use the same precautions as if you were walking through your local mall or down the street, you will be fine.

A couple of years ago my wife's sunglasses fell on the floor of the restroom stall she was occupying in Animal Kingdom. Before she could lean forward, some slug stuck her hand out and grabbed them and was gone. :fork:

Someone did that to my sister's purse. She sat it on the floor while in a restroom stall and someone reached under, grabbed it, and up and R-U-N-N O-F-T. :D

The gall! I'm outraged on your wife's behalf.

All I carry into the parks is my drivers license and key to the kingdom with a little pocket cash and I usually put it in in cargo pockets in my shorts. I have never had a need to carry my entire wallet contents into the parks. Even when I do carry my wallet I do so in my front pocket anyway...I think I will notice some dude digging on my front pocket.

I never did either but I started doing the decoy wallet a few years back because I think it would be funny. But I'm stupid like that. :king: I actually carry as little cash as possible with me in the parks and put everything on my KttW card. Then I carry the KttW card, Drivers license, any CCs I have, money, and FPs in this (tucked in my shirt):

This is very true. My husband and I were down a couple of weeks ago. The line for the bag checks were very long at MK and Epcot two seperate nights. So we took everything out of our bag (which is a thin backpack only carrying my small wallet, phone and sunglasses). We put everything in our pockets, including the bag, and walked through the security without bags gate.

I'm rather lucky then that the one time I lost my wallet at DTD, a very good samaritan found it and insisted that he take it personally to a security office. I was losing my mind after discovering my wallet was no longer in my back pocket (I was wearing a pair of shorts that was notorious for things falling out of any pocket, I no longer wear them), but thankfully it was found and the security guard who walked me to the office told me about the guy who was insistent he take it there personally. Wouldn't even hand it off to one of the bar tenders at the stand next to the Harley store. In case that person happens to be reading; thank you very much!

One of the most important things in minding your surroundings is to never assume someone is good, or up to no good. It's easy to assume teen/thug when you hear of sad incidents such as this. Yet it amazes me how many of the "decent looking", "clean cut", average husband/wife (even with children of their own) will steal from you quicker than you can blink an eye.

I carry a camera case with all my stuff in it and my husband carries a pack when in the parks. It hold his wallet and phone. When we are at home and walking around he puts his wallet in his front pocket.

To the person who's sister had her purse stolen in the stall, I either put my purse on the back of the toilet, on top of the toilet paper or in my lap. I won't even use the hooks on the doors because they are high enough up where someone can reach over the top and take it. Some stalls have a pull down seat in there for kids and if there is one I will strap my purse onto that. :)
