but my butt hurts whenever i put anything in my back pocket. so i really don't know why people put things there, no offense intended to those who do. it just feels really uncomfortable when i put my wallet in my back pocket and then i sit down.

And to the person who's camera was stolen from the bottom of the diaper bag...seriously who does stuff like that? Why would anybody steal a camera from someone on vacation? Not only did they steal a camera that someone worked hard to pay for, but they also stole all those memories those pictures represented. How awful. :(

Because people suck.

That sucks but, yeah it happens even at Disney. I carry a bit of cash, my credit card and my key card in a small card holder, which goes in a zippered pouch which is in a zippered pocket inside my zippered back pack - by the time they get to it, I'll be screamin' and swingin' like a mad woman. :fork:

I did see a woman once yelling that a man stole her camera. The man was running from HM towards IASW and this other guest just clotheslined him - caught him right in the neck, lifted his feet off the ground and sent him to the pavement.

This is when I was a CM there and with about 6 other CM's just enjoying our day off in the park so I went to the nearest phone, called security and the other CM's dealt with the guests.

Picking pockets sounds too much like work. Just hit a row of strollers.
The number of strollers I always see loaded down with bags never ceases to amaze me.

Disney World, anywhere, this kind of stuff happens everyday, all the time. Unfortunately, its usually the fault of the victim not being aware, but there are people who are so good at pickpocketing you never have a chance, even if you are alert and prepared.

My advice, if someone stops you and asks a question and you get "bumped" check yourself immediately, thats very popular technique for pickpockets in large public areas. Always check yourself if you get "bumped" into right away and look for people walking away from you fast, and start yelling if your missing something. Disney has people on the streets everywhere.

My good friend was at the Indiana Jones stunt show when his wallet was lifted from his rear pants pocket. He later found his wallet on the way out of the show in the aisle all tore up. The thief took his credit cards, park ticket and all cash. The Happiest Place on Earth has thiefs in it also.

My wife thinks I am stupid for doing this but while at Disney I carry a cheap wallet with me and I put in Monopoly money and a photo of a "rude hand gesture" and a note saying that they ought to rethink their lives, etc... That way if anyone does happen to get my wallet without my noticing then they get that instead of my actual money. I carry the real money and cards in my lanyard around my neck, inside my shirt. ;) And if I do catch someone trying to pick my pocket then I'll simply arrest them (out of my jurisdiction or not) and I'll go on about my day. :)

I don't care if it's a bad fashion statement, but I ALWAYS wear a pack with my stuff in it. Everything else stays in the safe in the room.

My wife wears one of these around in front of her. I make fun of her for it but she knows I think it is pretty smart of her.

True. I've seen actual purses sitting in them before. :hammer:

It does happen, two years ago we witnessed a group of teens, thuglike, steal two stuffed animals on the way out of DHS. Oh yea I said something, got disrespected, and put them in their place, the back of a police car. As for the wallet thing, use a money clip in front pocket.

Just me - I always wonder why other men tend to carry a wallet in the BACK pocket? I think pants with "rob me" engraved on them are in order :).

I always carry my wallet in the front left pocket. A bit deeper, where I can see a "hand" if one shows up.

The "Wallet in the back pocket" caused my right hip to be an inch higher than my left hip (Chiropractor is fixing that now). He tells me it's such a common problem in men. Your body adjusts to it so you can't even feel it in your pocket anymore. BAD IDEA.

That's why I now always put it in the front pocket.
