Hi, putting this here as a "current event"- I am at the World this week, and the MLB winter meeting starts tomorrow. Anyone ever show up, and if so, is it worth it? Would love to pop over to the Swan and Dolphin to check this out. Thanks in advance!
Yes. Anyone from players to agents, managers to scouts can all show up at the winter meetings. A lot of them are already there. A friend of mine bumped into Jacoby Ellsbury yesterday night at the Swan.
The Baseball Winter Meetings is huge event, you're going to see a lot of baseball players, general managers, managers, scouts, the whole gamut of baseball management. If you're a fan, you're going to love it.
Agreed! Years ago we were checking my parents in at the Opryland Hotel. The lobby personnel were all decked out in baseball uniforms, representing all of the teams. My dad was thrilled to be standing in line next to Tommy LaSorda, who was managing the Dodgers at that time.
Thanks for all the advice. Jacoby-sore subject here; in any event I definitely will head over there Sunday or Weds. Was thinking of going to ESPN to watch football anyways (staying at Coronado so I could watch in the lounge here). This may clinch me heading over to Boardwalk area today with the fam. My wife may put up a stink when I wear my Sox and not Pats shirt. Oh well.
